HELVETAS Nepal Vacancy:
HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation Nepal is a Swiss non-governmental organization actively contributing to the improvement of the living conditions of poor and disadvantaged people in Nepal.
Nepal Agricultural Services Development Programme, Prayas is a bilateral initiative between the Government of Nepal and the Government of Switzerland and implemented by the HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation Nepal. It invites application from interested and committed Nepali citizens for the following positions:
Position: Governance and Capacity Building Coordinator (for woman only)
Project: Nepal Agricultural Services Development Programme, Prayas
Duty station: State support unit, Surkhet
This position is responsible to facilitate local governments in strengthening governance and service delivery system. She will support local governments for capacity to needs assessment and designing capacity development plans. Further, she will be responsible for piloting/upscaling good practices in the policies and programme of local and state government through facilitating intergovernmental exchange, learning, and sharing.
Required Education, Experience and Social Competence:
Master's Degree in social science or in a relevant field. Minimum 5 years of work experience in the field of local governance and capacity building with excellent knowledge and understanding of the governance system. Working experience in Karnali will be an added value. Commitment towards gender equality, social inclusion, and poverty reduction.

Position: Agriculture Extension Coordinator (Re-vacancy announcement)
Project: Nepal Agricultural Services Development Programme, Prayas
Duty station: State Support Unit, Itahari
This position is responsible for overall facilitation for institutionalizing and strengthening decentralized and pluralistic agriculture extension system in the selected local levels of State one. In specific, s/he is responsible to lead the facilitation for planning and designing of extension activities; ensure that market-oriented agriculture services are linked and establish close coordination with the State Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperative (MoLMAC), Directorate of Agriculture and Livestock Service, Agriculture Knowledge Center, related sections of Local Levels and Private Sectors.
Required Education, Experience and Social Competence:
Master's degree in Agriculture or in a relevant field. Minimum 5 years of working experience in project/ programme implementation with 3 years of working experience in agriculture extension specific projects. Commitment towards issues related to gender, social equality and poverty reduction.
