Small Irrigation Programme Vacancy

The government of Nepal and the Government of Switzerland have signed a bilateral agreement to implement a SMALL IRRIGATION PROGRAMME (SIP) - PHASE I, in 80 Palikas of nine districts of Nepal namely Ramechhap, Okhaldhunga, Khotang, Udayapur, Sindhuli, Achham, Dailekh, Jajarkot, and Kalikot. Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) is providing financial and technical support to the Government of Nepal (GoN) for the implementation of the programme.

Joint-Venture (JV) of GEOCE Consultants (P) Ltd., Total Management Services Pvt Ltd. (TMS) and Aviyaan Consulting (P) Ltd, has set up a -TA team on behalf of SDC. In order to supplement its team, the JV is now seeking applications from the qualified and experienced Nepali Nationals for the following positions:

1. ADMINISTRATION AND HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST-1 position

Qualifications and Experience:

The Administration and Human Resource Specialist should have a Master's Degree in public administration and human resource management or a relevant subject. S/he should have at least 7 years of experience in a similar position, with at least five years for an international organization. S/he shall have very good written and spoken English.

2. DISTRICT IRRIGATION ENGINEER: Few

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering with 2 years' experience preferably in planning and design of small irrigation systems and have experience in working with local government. S/he should be familiar with the use of GPS survey methodologies, be proficient in the use of GIS and Auto CAD software.

3. SUB ENGINEER: Few

Qualifications and Experience:

IE in civil engineering from a recognized university or Diploma in Civil Engineering from CTEVT with a minimum of 2 years' general professional experience preferably with at least one-year experience in planning/ design/construction of irrigation schemes. Experience in the use of GPS survey methodologies and knowledge in the use of GIS and AutoCAD software will be an asset.

4. FINANCE ASSISTANT: 1 position

Qualifications and Experience:

Higher Secondary Level, preferably a Bachelor's Degree, with 1-year experience in the finance-related task. He/she should have very good knowledge of computer-based applications, viz. Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. He/ She shall have good command over spoken and written English.

5. ADMINISTRATIVE AND HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT: 1 position

Qualifications and Experience:

Higher Secondary Level, preferably a Bachelor's Degree in Management, with 1-year experience in the administrative related task. He/she should have very good knowledge of computer-based applications, viz. Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. He/ She shall have good command over spoken and written English.

Duration of Employment: The initial contract for the above positions is for the period up to July 2019, with the possibility of extension.
