Switzerland through its development cooperation has been engaged in Nepal since 1959. With the establishment of its Embassy in Nepal in August 2009, Switzerland's assistance in Nepal continues to focus on federal state-building, employment and income through agriculture, rural infrastructure, and vocational skills, as well as migration. Switzerland is committed to supporting Nepal's socio-economic development and federal state building at the national, provincial and local levels.

Driver (1)

As a member of the Driving Team, the post holder undertakes following responsibilities under the line management of Premises and Transport Manager:

  • provide transport services to staff and visitors as per instruction within and outside Kathmandu valley;
  • takes responsibility for assigned vehicles for cleanliness, proper maintenance, as well as safety of self and passengers;

Required Technical Competence

Academic qualification up to 10th standard; Valid driving license and ability to drive vehicle safely and appropriately; 2 years' experience of driving different kinds of vehicles (incl. driving outside Kathmandu valley); Ability to understand and speak English language; Ability to read and interpret road signs in Nepali & English; Ability to read, understand, and adhere to the traffic and related rules and regulations; Knowledge of the operations and features of assigned vehicle(s); Ability to recognize vehicle maintenance needs as well as perform minor vehicle repairs; Ability to interpret policies and procedures, maps, and route directions; Knowledge about First Aid.

Courtesy and Customer orientation; Conscious of responsibility and willingness to assure confidentiality and professional integrity; Time management and task prioritization; Reasoning skills; Good Interpersonal skills; Ability to work in a multi-cultural team; Ability to work and contribute positively in a team; Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
