The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN), located in ICAN Marg, Satdobato, Lalitpur, is inviting eligible candidates to apply for their competitive written examination. Application Submission

Applications are to be submitted online along with required documents.

Required Documents for Application

The following documents must be uploaded during the application process:

  1. Educational qualification certificates.
  2. Citizenship certificate.
  3. Inclusive group documentation (where applicable).
  4. Equivalency certificate for foreign qualifications (if relevant).
  5. Verified work experience details for positions that require it.
  6. Professional Membership Certificate for positions where it's required.

Application Deadlines

The final date for application submission is 2080/04/18. Applications can be submitted with double payment until 2080/04/25.

Age Limit

For officer level positions, applicants must have completed 21 years and not exceed 35 years as of the last date of application. For assistant level positions, candidates must be at least 18 years old and not more than 35 years. The age limit for women and disabled candidates is 40 years. However, for the Assistant Director position, applicants should be between 21 and 45 years. The age limit does not apply to permanent employees of the organization.

Work Location

The recruited personnel will be under the organization's management and are expected to perform as prescribed. Depending on ICAN's staffing needs, the new hires will be posted either at the central office or at branch offices outside the valley.

Examination Fee Submission and Additional Details

After successful online application submission, the examination fee must be paid using either eSewa or Connect IPS. If the prescribed fee isn't deposited, the application will be considered incomplete.

Examination Fee Details

Fees for each advertisement are as follows. If a candidate applies to multiple advertisements for inclusive groups, additional fees will be required for each group.

  • Level 8: Rs. 1,000 (One Thousand). Each additional inclusive group: Rs. 400 (Four Hundred)
  • Levels 6 and 7: Rs. 1,000 (One Thousand). Each additional inclusive group: Rs. 400 (Four Hundred)
  • Level 5: Rs. 400 (Four Hundred). Each additional inclusive group: Rs. 200 (Two Hundred)
  • Level 4: Rs. 300 (Three Hundred). Each additional inclusive group: Rs. 150 (One Hundred and Fifty)

Special Instructions for Candidates Applying for Inclusive Group Positions

Applicants interested in applying for positions under the Inclusive Group should carefully prepare and submit the following documents during their application process. Candidates will be selected for interviews based on their written test results. Successful applicants should bring certified copies (photocopies) of these documents during their interview.

Documentation Requirements

(a) For Indigenous Tribes: If you belong to a tribe listed under the Nepal Adivasi/Tribal Upliftment National Foundation Act, you will need to provide a document certified by the chief district officer, on the recommendation of the head of your local level, confirming your surname within the listed tribe. This is particularly important if there are multiple surnames within your tribe.

(b) For Madhesi Candidates: Applicants should provide a document certified by the Government of Nepal, indicating their Madhesi status, as prescribed in the Nepal Gazette. Until the institution is designated by a notice in the Nepal Gazette, a document certified by the chief district officer, recommended by the head of your local level, will be required.

(c) For Dalit Candidates: If you are from a caste listed by the National Dalit Commission, you will need to provide a document based on that list. If there are multiple surnames within your caste, you need a document certified by the chief district officer, recommended by the head of your local level.

(d) For Disabled Candidates: Applicants should provide a Disability ID card. This card could be issued by the Social Welfare Council or, as per sub-section (3) of section 4 of the Act relating to the rights of persons with disabilities (2074), by the relevant local level authority indicating the classification of disability.

Important Notes for Applicants

  1. Double the duty period will be taken into account for determining age, educational qualifications, experience, and other required qualifications. Applications submitted past the deadline, not meeting the minimum qualifications, failing to disclose necessary details, or not accompanied by the prescribed fee will not be considered.

  2. Examinations conducted on the basis of open and inclusive competition for each service will be held collectively at a single sitting.

  3. Candidates requiring a period of experience should have completed the minimum service period required for their respective post by the last application date.

  4. Candidates should have achieved the prescribed educational qualification by the last date of application submission. Those who have studied at foreign institutions must verify the equivalence of their qualifications with the concerned agency.

  5. Only black ink should be used in the examination; otherwise, the answer sheet will be cancelled.
