World Vision International Nepal (WVIN) Vacancy:

World Vision International Nepal (WVIN), an international Christian relief, development, and advocacy organization dedicated to working with children, families, and communities to overcome poverty and injustice, is looking for potential Nepalese candidates to fill out the following position:

Position: Media and Content Specialist based in the National Office, Lalitpur Purpose of the role:

The Media and Content Specialist will contribute for strategic engagement to \NV's communications across Nepal. S/he will develop and manage evidence-based high-quality content to engage public and contribute to resource generation for strategy execution and impact S/he should build the reputation and influence of WVI Nepal through mainstream and social media. S/he will contribute as an emergency communication focal in amplifying the voice of disaster-affected communities during an event of a disaster.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience required for the position:

A Master's degree in Mass Communications/ Journalism or equivalent with at least 5 years' professional experience in communications /media relations or Bachelor's Degree with 7 years' of related experience; Must have knowledge of advocacy, development and relief work with deep understanding of media in Nepal; Should have knowledge and skills in interpersonal and cross-cultural communication; Demonstrated ability to think and manage strategically, plan and meet deadlines; Should be an energetic, analytical and have self-starting approach to projects that involves significant responsibility; Experience working in a field context, including conducting interviews and taking photos is essential; This role requires at least 25% travel to field monthly/ bi-monthly for meetings, training, orientations on branding and positioning and VIP hosting.

Core competencies for the position:

The candidate must have excellent communication skills with proven English language fluency (written and verbal) along with good photography and videography skills; Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications including use of Microsoft Office Packages; Willing to work under pressure and exhibit a high level of flexibility; Hold a high level of integrity and honesty, self-motivated, confident, and able to work independently; Must be strategic, creative, and innovative with decision making and problem solving skills.
