TU IOE BE/BArch Entrance Exam Notice for Academic Year 2083/084

Tribhuvan University, Institute of Engineering (IOE), Entrance Examination Board has published a notice regarding the entrance examination to be conducted for student admission at the undergraduate level, B.E./B.Arch., for the academic year 2083/084.

For admission to various undergraduate B.E./B.Arch. programs in the constituent campuses and affiliated colleges under Tribhuvan University, Institute of Engineering, for the academic year 2083/084, the entrance examination will be conducted through a computer-based method using information technology from 2083 Asar 28.

The examination will be held at the Institute of Engineering, Information and Communication Technology Center (ICTC), Pulchowk, Lalitpur; Western Regional Campus, Pokhara; Purwanchal Campus, Dharan; and Thapathali Campus, Thapathali, Kathmandu, according to the designated place, time, and shift. This notice has been published for the information of all concerned.

1. Minimum Qualification for Applicants

1.1 - Students who have passed the Proficiency Certificate Level, Higher Secondary Level, A Level, Engineering Diploma Level, or an equivalent examination from Tribhuvan University or an educational institution recognized by it, having studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in Classes 11 and 12, with at least 45% of the total full marks, or, in the case of Letter Grading (for NEB), with a minimum C Grade in the Final Grade of each subject, may apply and participate in the entrance examination.

Students who have appeared in the final examination of Class 12 or an equivalent level, or who have appeared in the sixth semester examination of Engineering Diploma, may also apply and participate in the entrance examination.

1.2 - Foreign citizens may apply only for full-fee programs. In the constituent campuses operating under IOE, seats equal to 1/12 of the full-fee seats of the full-fee program have been reserved for foreign citizens.

2. Method of Filling the Application Form and Required Documents

2.1 - Applicants must personally fill out the entrance examination application form available on the Institute of Engineering website, https://entrance.ioe.edu.np, and submit it online through the same website.

2.2 - The online form on the website will be available only from 10:00 AM on 2083/03/03 to 5:00 PM on 2083/03/17. Therefore, applicants are informed to complete the examination form at any time within the said period. The online form will automatically close after the specified time.

2.3 - The application form may be filled out at any time on the specified days from any place with internet access.

2.4 - The entrance examination fee of Rs. 2,500/- (in words: rupees two thousand five hundred only) must be deposited from any branch of Siddhartha Bank Ltd. within Nepal by filling out the special voucher prepared by the bank for the IOE entrance examination.

After the bank voucher is issued, the amount paid as the examination fee will not be refunded.

In addition to the bank voucher, Siddhartha BankSmart service provided by Siddhartha Bank may be used free of charge to deposit the application fee. Additional charges will apply as per the rules of the respective services for using Connect IPS/eSewa/Khalti wallet/IME Pay.

Detailed information on the payment process through Connect IPS/eSewa/Khalti wallet/IME Pay or BankSmart can be viewed at https://entrance.ioe.edu.np.

While filling out the online form, the bank voucher number or Transaction ID Number (Connect IPS/eSewa/Khalti wallet/IME Pay) must be entered mandatorily.

Applicants must deposit the entrance examination fee by 3:00 PM on 2083/03/17. The application form must be completed by 5:00 PM on the same day.

2.5 - While filling out the form, applicants must mandatorily follow the given instructions and fill in the following details:

(a) Applicant’s identification: The applicant’s name, names of father and mother, date of birth, permanent address, details of SLC/SEE and I.Sc./10+2/A Level/Engg. Diploma or equivalent results, and a recently taken color digital photo of 350×300 pixels with full forehead visible and a plain background must be provided. Photos of other sizes will not be accepted.

(b) Examination date, place, and shift: As the number of examinees will be limited for each date, place, and shift, applicants should fill out the form as early as possible and confirm the examination date, place, and shift suitable for them. Once the examination date, place, and shift are confirmed, they will not be changed.

2.6 - While filling out the online form, applicants must mention the number of an identity document containing their photo and signature, such as citizenship certificate, national identity card, driving license, passport, or the admit card of the final year/semester examination of I.Sc./10+2/Engg. Diploma, and must also upload its digital copy.

2.7 - After filling out and submitting the online examination form, applicants must print the Acknowledgement Page received immediately.

2.8 - Applicants who have filled out and submitted the online form must confirm whether their name appears on the date, place, and shift selected by them in the Acknowledgement Page received as per point no. 2.7. If otherwise, they must contact the Entrance Examination Board by 1:00 PM on 2083/03/23.

2.9 - After 2083/03/26, the admit cards of examinees will be made available online in phases according to the examination dates. The admit card must be downloaded and printed in color. The said admit card will be mandatory to participate in the examination.

2.10 -  When appearing for the entrance examination, applicants must bring the admit card as well as the original identity document with photo mentioned in the admit card as per point no. 2.6, which was uploaded while filling out the examination form.

3. Information Regarding Entrance Examination and Admission

3.1 - The entrance examination to be conducted through a computer-based method using information technology will consist of 100 objective questions, each carrying 1 mark, for a total of 100 full marks. For each wrong answer, marks will be deducted at the rate of 5%.

3.2 - As per the syllabus published by the IOE Entrance Examination Board on the website https://entrance.ioe.edu.np, the examination in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English will be conducted through a computer-based method for a total duration of two hours.

3.3 - Additional information regarding the entrance examination and admission can be obtained later from the “Detailed Information and Guidelines Regarding Entrance Examination and Campus Admission - 2083,” which will be made available on the IOE website, https://entrance.ioe.edu.np.

3.4 - Examinees wishing to be admitted to various reserved quotas in constituent campuses, including women quota, teacher/employee quota, inclusive underprivileged reservation quota, quota reserved for government and government-owned organizations, and quota reserved for foreign citizens, must prepare all required documents published in the “Detailed Information and Guidelines Regarding Entrance Examination and Campus Admission - 2083” before the IOE campus/college admission schedule begins.

3.5 - The scorecard of the entrance examination must be downloaded from the website within one month from the date of publication of the examination result.

Note

Examinees who pass the undergraduate B.E./B.Arch. entrance examination conducted by Tribhuvan University, Institute of Engineering, for the academic year 2083/084 will be eligible to become candidates for higher education scholarships in engineering subjects to be provided by the Ministry of Education and Sports, Government of Nepal, in 2083/084, if they meet the prescribed legal criteria as per the scholarship regulations of the ministry.
