Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering Revised Notice for BE/B.Arch Entrance Examination 2083/084

Tribhuvan University, Institute of Engineering, Entrance Examination Board has published this revised notice regarding the entrance examination to be conducted for student admission at the undergraduate level (B.E./B.Arch.) for the academic year 2083/084.

For admission of students to various undergraduate level B.E./B.Arch. programs for the academic year 2083/084 in the constituent campuses and affiliated colleges under TU, Institute of Engineering, the entrance examination to be conducted through a computer-based method using information technology will be held from 2083 Shrawan 11. The examination will be conducted at the Institute of Engineering, Information and Communication Technology Center (ICTC), Pulchowk, Lalitpur; Paschimanchal Campus, Pokhara; Purwanchal Campus, Dharan; and Thapathali Campus, Thapathali, Kathmandu, according to the assigned location, time and shift. This notice has been published for the information of all concerned.

The 5 constituent campuses and 10 affiliated colleges operating under the Institute of Engineering are as follows.

1. Minimum Eligibility for Application

1.1 - Students who have passed the Proficiency Certificate Level, Higher Secondary Level, A Level, Engineering Diploma Level or equivalent examination from TU or an educational institution recognized by TU, by taking Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Grades 11 and 12, with at least 45% of the total full marks, and in the case of letter grading, with a minimum C Grade in the final grade of each subject in the case of NEB, may apply and participate in the entrance examination.

Students who have appeared in the final examination of Grade 12 or equivalent, or in the sixth semester examination of an Engineering Diploma, may also apply and participate in the entrance examination.

1.2 - Foreign nationals may apply only for full-fee programs. In the full-fee program of the constituent campuses operating under the Institute of Engineering, seats equivalent to 1/12 of the full-fee seats have been reserved for foreign nationals.

2. Method of Filling the Application Form and Required Documents

2.1 - The applicant must personally fill out the entrance examination application form placed on the Institute of Engineering website, https://entrance.ioe.edu.np, and submit it online through the same website.

2.2 - The online form on the website will be available only from 10:00 AM on 2083/03/23 to 5:00 PM on 2083/04/01. Therefore, applicants are informed to complete the examination form at any time within the stated period. After the prescribed time, the online form will close automatically.

2.3 - The application form can be filled out from any location with internet access at any time on the specified days.

2.4 - The entrance examination fee of Rs. 2,500/- (in words, rupees two thousand five hundred only) must be paid by filling out the special voucher prepared by Siddhartha Bank Ltd. for the IOE entrance examination at any branch of Siddhartha Bank within Nepal.

After the bank voucher has been issued, the amount paid as the examination fee will not be refunded.

In addition to the bank voucher, Siddhartha BankSmart service provided by Siddhartha Bank can be used free of charge to deposit the application fee. If Connect IPS, eSewa, Khalti wallet or IME Pay is used, an additional charge will be applied according to the rules of the respective service.

Detailed information on the payment process using Connect IPS, eSewa, Khalti wallet, IME Pay or BankSmart can be viewed at https://entrance.ioe.edu.np.

While filling out the online form, the bank voucher number or Transaction ID Number of Connect IPS, eSewa, Khalti wallet or IME Pay must be entered compulsorily.

Applicants must deposit the entrance examination fee by 3:00 PM on 2083/04/01. The application form must be completed by 5:00 PM on the same day.

2.5 - While filling out the form, the applicant must compulsorily follow the given instructions and fill in the following details:

(a) Applicant’s identity: The applicant’s own name and the names of the father and mother, date of birth, permanent address, details of the results of SLC/SEE and I.Sc./10+2/A Level/Engg. Diploma or equivalent, and a recently taken 350x300 pixel color digital photo with a plain background and full forehead visible must be provided. Photos of other sizes will not be accepted.

(b) Since the number of examinees for each date, location and shift will be limited, the applicant must fill out the form as early as possible and confirm the examination date, location and shift convenient to them. Once the examination date, location and shift have been confirmed, they will not be changed.

2.6 - While filling out the online form, the applicant must mention the number of an identity document containing a photo and signature, such as a citizenship certificate, national identity card, driving license, passport, or the admit card of the final year/semester examination of I.Sc./10+2/Engg. Diploma. A digital copy of the same document must also be uploaded.

2.7 - After filling out and submitting the online examination form, the Acknowledgement Page received immediately must be printed.

2.8 - Applicants who have filled out and submitted the online form must confirm whether their name appears on the Acknowledgement Page received under point 2.7 for the date, location and shift selected by them. If otherwise, they must contact the Entrance Examination Board by 1:00 PM on 2083/04/04.

2.9 - After 2083/04/08, the admit cards of examinees will be made available online in phases according to the examination date. The admit card must be downloaded and printed in color. The admit card will be mandatory for appearing in the examination.

2.10 - When appearing for the entrance examination, the examinee must bring the admit card along with the original identity document with photo, as mentioned in point 2.6, that is stated on the admit card and uploaded while filling out the examination form.

3.1 - In the entrance examination to be conducted through a computer-based method using information technology, there will be 100 objective questions carrying 1 mark each, for a total of 100 full marks. Marks will be deducted at the rate of 5% for each wrong answer.

3.2 - As per the syllabus published by the IOE Entrance Examination Board on the website https://entrance.ioe.edu.np, a computer-based examination of two hours’ duration will be conducted in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English.

3.3 - Other additional information related to the entrance examination and admission can be obtained from the “Detailed Information and Guidelines Regarding Entrance Examination and Campus Admission - 2083,” which will be made available later on the IOE website, https://entrance.ioe.edu.np.

3.4 - Examinees wishing to be admitted to various reserved quotas in the constituent campuses, including women quota, teacher/staff quota, inclusive deprived reservation quota, reserved quota for government and government-owned institutions, and reserved quota for foreign nationals, must prepare all required documents published in the “Detailed Information and Guidelines Regarding Entrance Examination and Campus Admission - 2083” before the start of the IOE campus/college admission schedule.

3.5 - The entrance examination scorecard must be downloaded from the website within one month from the date of publication of the examination result.

Note

Candidates who pass the undergraduate level B.E./B.Arch. entrance examination to be conducted by Tribhuvan University, Institute of Engineering in the academic year 2083/084 will be eligible to become candidates for higher education scholarships in engineering subjects to be provided by the Ministry in 2083/084, if they meet the legal criteria prescribed under the scholarship regulations of the Government of Nepal, Ministry of Education and Sports.
