For a long time, a narrow and dramatic narrative had been established in our society and consciousness—that Lakshmi and Saraswati do not reside in the same place. This meant that the idea was widespread in society that a wealthy person is less educated or lacks wisdom, while a highly educated or academic person is economically weak. However, the current situation of the 21st century, along with the country, time, and scientific basis, has completely dismantled this traditional narrative. Through etiquette, dedication, high moral character, and a work-centered philosophy of life, it has become essential to establish both Lakshmi and Saraswati in the same place.
In ancient times, this belief was developed with the aim that a person who acquires knowledge should not fall into the swamp of greed and that a person who earns wealth should maintain a form of moral consciousness and balance. Although such a philosophical interpretation was made to prevent excessive greed, which brings arrogance, conflict, and destruction in human beings, it later created a misleading narrative.

In today’s era, information technology and intellectual capacity have proved to be the world’s highest forms of capital. A person with education and wisdom has the unique ability to make quick decisions, prepare practical plans, sustain earnings, and solve any challenge, whether economic or technical. Among the two major foundations of a prosperous and successful life, education (knowledge) is the basic intellectual structure, while wealth (resources) is the material operating force. If either of these two is weak, human life becomes incomplete and limited.
Good Conduct, Positive Thinking, and Prosperity
In the context of Lakshmi and Saraswati, truthfulness and good conduct are considered the most important. Education without good conduct leads to arrogance, pride, and social destruction, while wealth without good conduct opens the path to distortion and downfall. Good conduct keeps both education and wealth in balance. If scholars are poor and inactive, the country cannot operate financially; if wealthy people are ignorant and lack wisdom, the country cannot become prosperous. Only through the coordinated and just presence of both can a nation become prosperous, civilized, and glorious.
For the operation of human life, the main energy of positive thinking is necessary. Success is achieved only through a strong combination of firm decision-making, strict discipline, and the strength of the field of action. A person receives results according to the way the mind thinks. Those who are trapped in the cycle of negative thinking or inferiority can never acquire education and wealth. Positive ideal thinking inspires a person to keep learning and earn wealth honestly, leading them toward prosperity.
Interdependent Relationship Between Education and Wealth
Wealth is only a material means of operating life, not the ultimate goal. From birth to death, education and knowledge are continuously necessary to complete the rites and stages of human life. Education is an imperishable asset that increases the more it is shared and strengthens life internally.
Therefore, it is necessary to begin a new perspective by changing the narrow narrative that Lakshmi and Saraswati are opponents of each other. After acquiring education, the mind and consciousness must be purified, which makes action pure, ethical, and productive. When economic strength (Lakshmi) arrives, the influence of research, education, and art (Saraswati) expands even more widely. To establish human life as meaningful, balanced, and successful, the coexistence, cooperation, coordination, and collaboration of Lakshmi and Saraswati are essential.
