Overview
Tripura Sundari Campus was established in Shrikot, Achham, with the local educational idea of “Education for Graduation, In our own Situation.” The campus grew from community effort and public contribution to address local access to higher education.
Before the campus began, students who completed intermediate-level education often had to leave the area for further study. Distance and family income made higher education difficult for many students in Shrikot and nearby settlements. Tripura Sundari Campus was formed to give students a local TU-affiliated study option in Achham.
Location and Access
Tripura Sundari Campus is located in the western part of Achham district. It is situated near Khaptad National Park and at the entrance area of Maalika, a Hindu shrine. Sanfebagar, a main trading area for Achham and Bajura, is about 3 km from the campus.
The main road access to Shrikot is the Dhangadhi–Bajura highway. The campus area is about 260 km from Dhangadhi and 950 km from Kathmandu. Direct bus service from Kathmandu to Sanfebagar connects students and visitors to Shrikot.
Academic Affiliation and Approval
Tripura Sundari Campus is affiliated with Tribhuvan University and approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Nepal. Its programs follow TU academic regulations, curriculum structures, examination systems, and result processes according to the applicable faculty and academic calendar.

The library supports social science, education, and business studies.
The campus also conducts events, counselling sessions, and academic tours. These activities support student participation beyond regular classroom study while keeping the academic focus connected with the community campus setting.
Catchment Area and Community Role
Tripura Sundari Campus serves students from Shrikot, Sanphebagar, and surrounding areas of Achham. Its local service area includes Sanfebagar Municipality, Chaurpati Rural Municipality, Mellekh Rural Municipality, Purbichauki Rural Municipality, and Budhiganga Rural Municipality of Bajura. Students also come from neighbouring districts such as Doti and Bajura.
The campus was established to reduce the need for students to leave the area immediately after completing intermediate-level study. Its location on the Dhangadhi–Bajura highway helps connect students from Achham and nearby districts with TU-affiliated higher education.
Campus Leadership
Laxmi Datt Joshi is associated with Tripura Sundari Campus as Campus Chief. The campus leadership connects the institution’s role with higher education access for students in Shrikot and the wider Achham district.
