Overview
Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology (BE IT) is a four-year eight-semester undergraduate program affiliated with Pokhara University. This program combines the fields of Computer Science and Information Communication Technology and provides students with the knowledge and skills required to design, develop and implement both the hardware and software components of computer systems in today's technological world. The course structure of this program is based on international trends, particularly American and Australian trends.
During the four-year study at college, students gain practical experience through laboratory work and real-life experience in related fields. Upon graduation, students have a multitude of opportunities to build their professional careers in both academic and professional sectors within and outside of the country.
In Nepal, the IT sector is booming and creating plenty of jobs for IT engineering graduates. Graduates with a BE IT degree can start their career as a software programmer, information communication technology project designer, analyst and developer, computer scientist, business analyst, systems designer, computer engineer, computer systems officer, or E-commerce specialist. They can also work in the academic sector such as colleges, universities, and research institutes both in the private and government level, as well as in other fields like public industries, government departments, business organizations, commercial organizations, and the manufacturing sector.
