Course Structure

The B.Ed. program follows the four-year annual structure of Tribhuvan University, Faculty of Education. The curriculum includes 22 courses carrying 2200 full marks.

The course structure is divided into five groups: Communication Skills, Professional Core Areas, Specialization Major Courses, Specialization Minor Courses, and Teaching Internship or Practicum.

Communication Skills includes General Nepali and General English. Professional Core Areas include Philosophical and Sociological Foundations of Education, Educational Psychology, Curriculum and Evaluation, and an elective course from the approved professional core options.

Students select one specialization major area and one specialization minor area. The major and minor areas must be different. Available specialization areas include Nepali Education, English Education, Mathematics Education, Science Education, Health and Physical Education, Population Education, Geography Education, Economics Education, History Education, and Political Science Education.

Eligibility

Students with Higher Secondary Education Examination Pass Certificate, Proficiency Certificate Level of Tribhuvan University, or an equivalent Grade 12 qualification are eligible to apply for admission to the B.Ed. program.

Additional entry requirements apply according to the selected specialization area. For example, Mathematics Education requires a Grade 12 or PCL background with Mathematics as a major subject, while Science Education requires Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects with the required full marks. Some specialization areas allow applicants from any faculty, as prescribed by Tribhuvan University.
