Curriculum structure

The first semester introduces Mathematics I, Physics, Technical Communication English, Computer Concept and Programming, and Digital Logic. These subjects establish the mathematical, scientific, communication, and programming foundation required for later coursework.

The second semester includes Mathematics II, Object-Oriented Programming in C++, Discrete Structure, Statistics I, and Microprocessor and Microcontroller. Students begin working with object-oriented programming while studying the mathematical structures and hardware concepts used in computing.

Third-semester subjects are Computer Organization and Architecture, Data Structures and Algorithms, Numerical Methods, Statistics II, and Database Management Systems. The fourth semester moves into Computer Graphics, Operating Systems, System Analysis and Design, Java Programming, and Web Technology.

The fifth semester covers Programming in Python, Theory of Computation, Computer Network, and Analysis and Design of Algorithm. Students also select an elective and complete Project I.

Projects, internship, and research

Project I introduces students to structured technical work based on the knowledge developed during the earlier semesters. Project II carries six credit hours and allows students to undertake a larger computing project involving planning, system design, development, testing, documentation, and presentation.

The final-semester internship gives students a setting in which to relate academic study to assigned technical responsibilities. The research seminar develops experience in selecting a computing topic, reviewing relevant work, organising information, and presenting findings.
