SANN International College for Higher Studies is located in Naya Naikap-14, Kathmandu, Nepal. Established in 1989 AD, the college began offering academic programs in 2000 AD. Its current portfolio covers Grade 11 and 12 education, undergraduate degrees, and a postgraduate management program.

The college works with three academic bodies: the National Examinations Board for +2 education, Purbanchal University for management, information technology, and biotechnology programs, and Rajarshi Janak University for computer application, computer science, and law programs. SANN began its academic work with programs in Science, Management, Business Administration, and science and technology fields. Its academic portfolio later expanded into information technology, computer applications, computer science, biotechnology, law, and postgraduate management.

Grade 11 and 12 programs

Ten Plus Two Science

The Ten Plus Two (+2) Science program runs for two years under NEB. The subject combination includes compulsory English, Nepali, and Social Studies or Mathematics, together with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Computer Science.

Science students have access to physics, chemistry, biology, and computer laboratory facilities. The program provides a school-level foundation for further study in science, technology, health-related education, engineering, computing, and biotechnology.

Ten Plus Two Management

The Ten Plus Two (+2) Management program combines compulsory subjects with management-related options. Its subject areas include Accounting, Economics, Business Studies, Computer Science, Hotel Management, and Tourism and Mountaineering Studies.

Classroom study is supported by seminars, case studies, project work, field visits, report writing, management fairs, guest sessions, presentations, research-paper activities, and career guidance. This approach gives students several ways to work with management concepts beyond routine written assignments.

Ten Plus Two Law

The Ten Plus Two (+2) Law program introduces students to legal study at the secondary level. Its academic areas include constitutional law, the Nepalese legal system, procedural law, civil and criminal law and justice, jurisprudence and legal theories, and legal drafting.

The Law department also conducts moot courts, mock trials, legal-awareness activities, court and law-firm visits, debates, legal writing, research presentations, and sessions with legal professionals. These activities connect subject learning with legal communication and structured argument.

Purbanchal University programs

Bachelor of Business Administration

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program has an intake of 144 students. It covers business and management areas such as economics, accounting, mathematics, statistics, marketing, finance, human resource management, business law, research, project management, information systems, and entrepreneurship.

SANN supplements the degree with activities in e-banking, database management, e-commerce, project management, research and report writing, and communication skills. The university curriculum also includes internship-based learning.

Bachelor in Information Technology

The Bachelor in Information Technology (BIT) program has an intake of 48 students. Its opening semester includes Mathematics, Fundamentals of Information Technology, Technical Communication, Basic Electrical Systems and Circuits, Principles of Management, Computer Programming, and project work.

The IT department also conducts coding workshops, software-development projects, web and application development activities, hackathons, guest sessions, cybersecurity awareness programs, and technology-focused events.

B.Sc. Biotechnology

The Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology is a four-year program with an intake of 40 students. SANN began offering the program in 2005 AD.

Its academic coverage includes chemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, bioinformatics, medical biotechnology, environmental biotechnology, animal and plant biotechnology, industrial biotechnology, agricultural biotechnology, bioengineering, bioethics, research methodology, and a special project.

The program uses the college’s biology and chemistry laboratory facilities and includes fieldwork, research, seminar presentation, and project components.

Master of Business Administration

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) has an intake of 33 students. The two-year, four-semester curriculum carries 69 credit hours and concludes with a thesis.

The course structure includes marketing, communication, accounting, business law, decision sciences, human resource management, economics, finance, operations, entrepreneurship, research methodology, information technology management, international business, strategic management, corporate governance, seminars, electives, and specialization courses.

SANN offers morning and evening study arrangements for the MBA program. Specialization areas in the university curriculum include Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management, and Operations and Supply Chain.

Rajarshi Janak University programs

Bachelor in Computer Application

The Bachelor in Computer Application (BCA) is a four-year, eight-semester undergraduate program with an intake of 48 students. Rajarshi Janak University places the program under Humanities and Social Sciences.

The curriculum is designed around computer applications, programming, software development, systems, networks, web technology, and the use of computing methods to address practical problems. Admission is based on the entrance process prescribed for the program.

B.Sc. Computer Science and Information Technology

The B.Sc. CSIT program has an intake of 48 students. Its eight-semester structure covers mathematics, physics, programming, digital logic, data structures, databases, operating systems, computer networks, software engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud computing, data mining, ethics, and management in the IT industry.

The later semesters include elective subjects, two project components, an internship, and a research seminar. Elective areas include data analytics, image processing, mobile application development, e-governance, neural networks, the Internet of Things, natural language processing, software quality assurance, and geographical information systems.

Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws

The B.A. LL.B. is a five-year program with an intake of 60 students. The ten-semester curriculum combines social science and legal subjects with clinical and field-based work.

Course areas include procedural law, criminal law, legal English and Nepali, family law, human rights, land law, legal ethics, legal research, trial advocacy, drafting of civil and criminal case documents, intellectual property law, cybercrime, jurisprudence, constitutional law, public and private international law, environmental law, and humanitarian law.

Practical components include street-law and legal-awareness work, interaction with lawyers and prosecutors, clinical practice, outreach, externship, internship, and dissertation work.

Five laboratories serve computer, physics, biology, chemistry, biotechnology, business, and +2 Science requirements. Lecture halls accommodate up to 35 students and include internet access and facilities for digital presentations.

Other spaces include study lobbies, research centres, student centres, examination halls, activity and cultural halls, a learning hub, and a separately maintained cafeteria.

Clubs and student participation

Admission process

Admission to the +2 programs involves an application, a college entrance examination, and an interview. Applicants must have completed SEE or an equivalent qualification and meet the grades required by NEB. The entrance examination includes Mathematics, English, and General Knowledge.

For bachelor’s and master’s programs, the process includes form submission, review of academic documents, an entrance examination, shortlisting, and an oral interview. The entrance pattern may cover mathematics, reasoning, general knowledge, and English, depending on the program.

Commonly required records include academic marksheets, character certificates, provisional and migration certificates, nationality proof, and bachelor-level records for MBA applicants. An experience certificate applies where relevant to the MBA eligibility route.

Scholarships

SANN has merit-based and financially based scholarship categories. Financial support is limited to tuition fees, with scholarships allocated to 10 percent of the annual intake under the stated arrangement.

Merit scholarships are connected to performance in internal assessments, university end-semester examinations, and the SANN common entrance examination. The published merit structure ranges from a 10 percent tuition scholarship for scores from 71 to 75 percent to a 50 percent tuition scholarship for scores of 95 percent or above.
