Diploma in Hydropower Engineering

Shankharapur Polytechnic Institute, Sankhu, Kathmandu offers 3 years of full-time technical education such as a Diploma in Hydropower Engineering. This course is affiliated with CTEVT.

Hydropower Engineering is one of the prominent disciplines in the engineering sector. Many people in the developed countries, developing countries, and underdeveloped countries have emphasized the broader application of Hydropower Engineering. This has been helping the world for the all-round physical infrastructure development and it has been creating wage and self-employment opportunities both in the public and private sectors.

This curriculum is based on the academic requirements to enter bachelor as well as designed with the purpose of producing a middle-level technical workforce equipped with knowledge and skills related to the field of civil engineering, especially in hydropower engineering so as to meet the demand of such workforce in the country to contribute in the national infrastructure development in the country. The knowledge and skills incorporated in this curriculum will be helpful to deliver the individual needs as well as national and international needs in the field of the hydropower sector. 

Eligibility Criteria:

SLC Pass or SLC/SEE with a minimum C grade in Compulsory Mathematics & Science and D+ in Compulsory English. TSLC in Civil or Electrical Engineering with minimum 66.68%.

Scholarship: 

A scholarship facility is available for deserving and needy students on the basis of the national-level scholarship entrance examination.
