Event Honors Bhairav Aryal Contribution to Nepali Literature

Event Highlights Bhairav Aryal’s Lasting Contribution to Literature and Journalism

A special program organized by Kalpataru Pragya–Pratishthan and the literary magazine Kalpataru focused on the remarkable contributions of Bhairav Aryal to Nepali literature and journalism.

Speakers expressed concern that the state has not given adequate recognition to Aryal’s outstanding work. They emphasized that although his life was short, his contributions to satire, literature, and journalism remain unparalleled.

Aryal’s Influence on Literature and Journalism

Writers at the event stated that Aryal was not only a master of satire and humor but also a powerful poet. His writings, which highlighted social and political distortions decades ago, are still just as relevant today.

Participants noted that Aryal’s works meet international standards and should be translated to reach a global audience.

Voices from the Event

Senior writer Govinda Prasad Ghimire ‘Vedmani,’ Kalpataru Pragya–Pratishthan Chairperson and Kalpataru Editor-in-Chief Navaraj Pudasaini ‘Jyotsna,’ along with literary figures Badri Aryal, Basanta Rizal, Bimal Aryal, Dr. Subas Pyakurel, Nirmal Aryal, and Rajan Pudasaini, shared multi-faceted reviews of Aryal’s contribution to Nepali literature and journalism.

Tribute and Special Launch

The program observed a minute of silence in memory of those who lost their lives during the recent “Jenji Movement” protests on Bhadra 23 and 24.

On the same occasion, the 115th issue of Kalpataru magazine was released in honor of Aryal’s legacy.
