
Makawanpur Campus to Host International Academic Conference
Makawanpur Multiple Campus, located in Hetauda, Makawanpur, is set to organize an international academic conference.
This institution has previously conducted two national-level academic conferences. Starting Saturday, the campus will host its first academic conference at the international level.
According to Campus Chief Dr. Yam Bahadur Silwal, more than one hundred representatives are expected to attend the event, which will begin on Saturday.
The conference will run through Monday, with participation from around three hundred experts and delegates from within the country and abroad, including virtual attendees.
Theme Focused on Youth and Sustainable Development
Dr. Silwal shared that the conference will be held under the theme “Localization of Sustainable Development Goals: Youth Capacity Development.”
He explained that the primary aim of the conference is to align sustainable development goals (SDGs) at the local level, build the capacity of young students, and increase their involvement in achieving those goals within their communities.
Opening Ceremony and Presentations
The conference will be officially inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Devraj Adhikari, Chairperson of the University Grants Commission (UGC), at 2 PM on Saturday. The opening event will take place at the Avocado Hotel in Hetauda.
The program will include presentations by national and international researchers, along with the publication of research journals.
Progress Toward Becoming a University
Campus Chief Dr. Silwal mentioned that with support from UGC Nepal, and in collaboration with central, provincial, and local governments, as well as domestic and international universities, the campus is moving forward with preparations to establish itself as a university.
