The National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) Celebrates its 3rd Convocation Ceremony on 17th February 2023, Friday. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' addressed the third convocation ceremony of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), where he expressed his expectations that the institution would continue to make progress in producing skilled technical manpower and delivering effective services, as well as making further advancements in research work.
He acknowledged the need to transform and develop hospitals as medical education and training centers in order to provide accessible, effective, quality health services, and to achieve more progress in research work by addressing national needs. He highlighted that the government has developed government and community hospitals in Biratnagar, Bharatpur, and Bhairahawa as teaching hospitals. He also noted the importance of individuals in government health institutions and institutions providing effective services and conducting proper testing and deployment of technical materials.
The Prime Minister mentioned serious issues such as the degradation of professional dignity and conduct, the misuse of government property in collusion, and the lack of politeness and seriousness towards service users and called for improvement in such conditions. The Prime Minister targeted students present at the ceremony and urged them to be responsible, active, inquisitive, and dutiful, and to use the knowledge, skills, and experience they have acquired to bring about positive changes in society and contribute to the expansion and development of public services.
Finally, he expressed his commitment to providing full support on behalf of the Government of Nepal and expects the institution to continue with further improvements in the area of research and medical education.
