Nepal Pragya Pratisthan Calls for Poems for National Poetry Festival 2083
Kathmandu — Nepal Academy, Kamaladi, Kathmandu, is organizing the National Poetry Festival 2083 on the occasion of its 69th anniversary.
With the guiding spirit of “All languages, all knowledge, everyone’s Pragya-Pratishthan,” the Academy has invited all Nepali poets to submit poems for the festival, which will be held on 9 Asar 2083.
According to the notice issued by the Academy, interested poets must submit their poems by 20 Jestha 2083. Poems may be submitted by visiting the Academy in person or by email. The submitted poem must be computer-typed and provided in both Word and PDF formats.
To make the festival inclusive, participatory, and multilingual, participants may submit poems written in any language or mother tongue of Nepal. However, poems written in a mother tongue must be submitted with a translation.
Among the poems received, the best 10 poems will each receive Rs. 50,000 in cash and a certificate of appreciation, according to the Academy.
Main Conditions and Criteria for Poems and Participation

The poem must be completely original.

Until the National Poetry Festival 2083 is completed, the submitted poem must not have been broadcast or published through any electronic or print medium.

Participating poets must clearly write their address and contact phone/mobile number.

Participants must also submit one recently taken passport-size photograph.

Poems submitted after the deadline or poems that do not meet the prescribed criteria will not be included in the festival evaluation process.
