Shubha Kalika Rural Municipality (शुभकालीका गाउँपालिका) was established in 2017 (2073 BS) as a local government of Nepal. The headquarters of the Shubha Kalika Gaunpalika is located in Sukatiya, Kalikot district, Karnali Province of Nepal. Rural Municipality is known as Gaunpalika in the Nepali Language. Shubha Kalika Gaunpalika is surrounded by Mahawai Rural Municipality on the East, Dailekh and Achham district on the West, Khandachakra Municipality on the North, and Dailekh District on the South. The Latitude is 29.077070, Longitude is 81.636216 and altitude is 21300 feet from sea level.
The total area of the Shubha Kalika Rural Municipality is 97.32 km2 (37.58 sq mi) and the total population of the rural municipality according to 2011 (2068 BS) Nepal census is 14080 individual. The density of this rural municipality is 140/km2 (370/sq mi). This Rural municipality is divided into 8 wards.
Bharta, Mugraha and Sukatiya Village development committees (VDCs) were incorporated to form Shubha Kalika Gaunpalika, This rural municipality came into existence on 10 March 2017 (Falgun 27, 2073 BS), fulfilling the requirement of the Constitution of Nepal 2015 (2072 BS). Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration replaced all old VDCs and Municipalities into 753 new local level bodies.
