History of Dullu Municipality
During the Baise-Chaubise state period, Dullu was known as the capital of Dullu State. Historical descriptions mention that it was the winter capital of Khas King Nagaraj.
Various inscriptions refer to this place as Durlabh Pradesh and Durlanghya Nagar. Although no concrete evidence has been found regarding its naming, local tradition states that the area came to be called Dulo because of the Nagdulo located between Baleshwar Shivalaya and Dhuleshwar Mountain. Later, through linguistic distortion, the name became Dullu.
During the unification of Nepal, Dullu State came under the authority of the State of Nepal on Monday, Kartik 21, B.S. 1846, during the reign of King Uttam Shahi. However, it remained a separate state until B.S. 2018.
After that, Dullu State was dissolved and merged into Dailekh District. Later, all the administrative divisions of Dullu State were divided and formed into the then village panchayats.
