Overview
Triveni Rural Municipality Salyan (त्रिवेणी गाउँपालिका, सल्यान) was established in 2017 (2073 BS) as a local government of Nepal. The headquarters of the Tribeni Gaunpalika is located in Luham, Salyan District, Karnali Province, Nepal. Rural Municipality is known as Gaunpalika in the Nepali Language.
The total area of this village is 119.111 square kilometers. Triveni Gaupalika is located between the 28th and 82nd north latitude and the 82nd and 82nd east longitude on the world map, and the sea surface is at elevations ranging from 783 to 2,107 meters.
Among the newly constructed villages in the Salyan district, Triveni village is a well-being village with the potential for development, as well as a source of sustainable development for the rural political parties and the villagers. According to the 2011 census, the population of this village is 16,624, comprising 8,898 women (53.53 percent) and 7,726 men (46.47 percent). This village is home to a diverse population of different ethnic groups and religions. According to the 2068 census, the maximum number of Kshetri was 9,393 (54.72%), followed by Magar at 4,435 (26.68%), and Kami in third place at 1,296 (7.80%).
Agricultural business and foreign employment (Remittance) are the main sources of family income of this Gaunpalika. The inhabitants of the traditional system, seeking an alternative to agricultural business, are beginning to embrace the modern lifestyle. The local labor force and the demand for foreign exchange are increasing gradually. There are educational institutions that provide access to basic and secondary education in this village, and are being initiated for higher education development. In this Gaupalika, there are 6 Secondary schools and 29 basic-level schools that are operational.
Due to the implementation of a comprehensive, planned development program in local bodies in the past and difficulties in essential financial management, the development of this area is not expected. However, due to the election of public representatives following the local level elections, there will be many expectations among people regarding development and service delivery. The expectations of residents and people have been spread. The wave of a developer has gone away.
Various festivals are celebrated in this village, where festivals of different communities and people are celebrated. Dashai, Tihar, Maghe Sankranti, Holi, Gaura, Krishna Janmashtami, Maha Shivratri, Chaiti Dashami, Bakrid, Buddha Jayanti, etc., festivals are celebrated in this village.
Kabhra, Karangithi, Falawang, and Tribeni Village Development Committee (VDC) were incorporated into Triveni Gaupalika. This rural municipality came into existence on 10 March 2017 (Falgun 27, 2073 BS), fulfilling the requirement of the Constitution of Nepal 2015 (2072 BS). The Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration replaced all old Village Development Committees (VDCs) and Municipalities with 753 new local-level bodies.
