Education Minister Directs All Universities to Suspend Exams Due to Natural Disasters
Kathmandu — The Ministry of Education and Sports has directed universities and their subordinate bodies to suspend examinations at all levels for the time being, stating that natural disasters have affected the daily lives of students, parents, and the general public.
Minister for Education and Sports Sasmit Pokharel, who also serves as co-chancellor of various universities, issued the directive by exercising the special authority provided under the respective university acts.
Minister Pokharel instructed the concerned university officials to take the necessary decisions and immediately implement the measures in view of the current sensitive situation.

| Suspension of Group Programs | Suspend gatherings, workshops, seminars, assemblies, and other group programs except those that are essential. |
| Contact and Psychosocial Counseling | Maintain continuous contact and coordination with students and parents affected by the disaster through universities and concerned educational institutions, provide necessary facilitation, and arrange psychosocial counseling for affected students and, as required, their parents. |
| Academic Continuity | Make necessary arrangements to ensure students’ academic continuity, taking into account the disruption to studies caused by the disaster. |
During this difficult period caused by the disaster, Minister Pokharel has urged all concerned to give the highest priority to the safety and welfare of students, parents, teachers, and employees across the university community.
