Far Western University to Deposit Around Rs 8.8 Million in Prime Minister Relief Fund for Flood Victims

Far Western University has decided to deposit around Rs 8.8 million in the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund and the Prime Minister Relief Fund for the rescue, relief, and rehabilitation of people affected by the flood in the Bhote Koshi River.

The decision was made at a meeting of the University’s Executive Council held on Bhadra 13. According to a notice issued by Registrar Prof. Dr. Govind Singh Bista, the University expressed deep sorrow over the heavy loss of life and property in riverbank areas of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, and other districts caused by the devastating flood in the Bhote Koshi River and decided to contribute the amount to the funds.

The Registrar’s Office stated that the amount will be deducted from the Bhadra monthly remuneration of office bearers, teachers, and employees working at the University and its subordinate bodies and deposited in the funds.

Salary Deduction Details

• Vice-Chancellor: An amount equivalent to one month’s salary

• Professors, Associate Professors, Associate Administrators, or equivalent teachers and employees: Ten days’ salary calculated on the basis of the monthly starting salary scale

• Assistant Professors, Deputy Administrators, Assistant Administrators, Teaching Assistants, Instructors, or equivalent teachers and employees: Seven days’ salary

• Chief Assistants, Assistants, or equivalent employees: Five days’ salary

• Unclassified employees: Two days’ salary

Through the issued notice, the University also paid tribute to the citizens who lost their lives in the natural disaster, extended condolences to the bereaved families, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
