Tribhuvan University to Deposit Funds in Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief Fund for Flood Relief

Tribhuvan University has decided to deposit funds in the Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief Fund to contribute to the relief and rehabilitation of citizens in flood-affected areas.

The University’s Executive Council meeting held on 2083 Bhadra 12, through Decision No. 87, decided to deduct specified amounts from the remuneration of office bearers, teachers, and employees working under various bodies of the University and deposit the amount in the fund.

According to an extremely urgent notice issued on Bhadra 12 by Acting Registrar Prof. Dr. Mahananda Chalise, the University decided to provide the contribution following the severe flood in the Bhote Koshi River at Rasuwagadhi in Rasuwa district and downstream areas on Bhadra 10, which caused significant loss of life and property in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, and Chitwan districts.

According to the decision, the following amounts will be deducted from the remuneration of office bearers, teachers, and employees while paying their monthly salary for Bhadra 2083:

  • Office bearers appointed by the Chancellor: One month’s remuneration

  • Professors, Administrators, Associate Professors, Associate Administrators, or equivalent teachers and employees: Remuneration equivalent to 10 days based on the monthly starting salary scale

  • Lecturers, Deputy Administrators, Branch Officers, Instructors, or equivalent teachers and employees: Seven days’ remuneration

  • Chief Office Assistants and Office Assistants, or equivalent employees: Five days’ remuneration

  • Unclassified employees: Remuneration equivalent to two days

The Registrar’s Office stated that arrangements have been made for the deducted amount to be deposited in the account of the Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief Fund through the Financial Administration Division.
