Purbanchal University to Deposit Funds in Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief Fund for Flood Relief

Purbanchal University has decided to deposit funds in the Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief Fund and the Prime Minister Relief Fund to support the relief and rehabilitation of citizens affected by natural disasters.

The University’s Executive Council made the decision while expressing sorrow over the loss of life and property in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, and other districts caused by the severe flood that occurred on Bhadra 10 in Rasuwagadhi, Rasuwa district, the Bhote Koshi River, and downstream areas.

According to a notice issued by University Registrar Dr. Ramesh Babu Kafle, specified amounts will be deducted according to position from the Bhadra salaries of University office bearers, teachers, and employees and deposited in the funds.

Salary Deduction Details

  • Vice-Chancellor and Registrar: One month’s salary

  • Dean, Controller of Examinations, Professors, and corresponding administrative employees: Half a month’s salary

  • Associate Professors and Chief Officers: 10 days’ salary

  • Assistant Professors, Senior Officers, Assistant Professors/Teaching Assistants, and Officers: Seven days’ salary

  • Chief Assistants and Assistants: Five days’ salary

  • Drivers, Office Assistants, and other unclassified employees: Salary equivalent to two days

In addition, the University has requested its affiliated colleges and campuses to provide financial assistance, to the extent possible, for the relief and rehabilitation of families and communities affected by the disaster.
