Govt Issued Contingency Action Plan for School Education - 2077:

The government has made public the contingency action plan for school education-2077 BS. The contingency action plan approved by the cabinet decision of Aswin1 was made public on Tuesday. Minister for Education, Science, and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokharel said that the contingency action plan has been made public through a virtual program and its main objective is to organize the academic session.

It is said that the action plan has been approved to address the impact of Corona on school education. It is stated that an emergency action plan has been brought for smooth implementation and further clarification of the directive on learning facilitation issued by the government earlier. It is planned to implement it effectively through the local government. As it is necessary to address the situation arising from Corona in an integrated manner, the action plan has been made public after discussions with the concerned agencies.

The action plan gives priority to data collection of relocated students, availability of textbooks, and the presence of teachers in the workplace.

According to Pokharel, the issue of teacher capacity development will be the main issue in the current situation. The main action plan is to connect students and teachers through technology. Minister Pokharel informed that it will be taken forward in coordination with the Ministry of Information and Technology. It has been stated that all three levels of government and stakeholders will have a role in the implementation process of the action plan.

Meanwhile, Minister Pokharel has informed that the book containing new maps including Lipulek, Limpiyadhura, and Kalapani has been stopped for the time being as it has been instructed not to distribute the book. He clarified that the Prime Minister had instructed to stop the book, adding that a decision would be taken only after further discussions between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Land Reforms, and Education. Minister Pokharel said that necessary discussions would be held with the ministry as well as experts on the issue.

In a virtual program organized last year, he unveiled a book on self-study material on Nepal's territory and borders and announced that it would be distributed to all schools. Minister Pokharel himself has written the role in this book published by the Curriculum Development Center.

Minister Pokharel has reiterated the government's commitment not to waste students' academic sessions. The government is ready to make good use of the student's academic session by ensuring minimum learning achievement through alternative methods. The government has already issued a learning facilitation guideline to implement this from Aswin1.

Minister Pokharel said that the school level curriculum has also been adjusted. The committee comprising local experts, headmasters, and subject teachers at the school level will implement it. The government has already announced to complete the current academic session within the next four months. The government is ready to make good use of the academic session in seven months. Officials have informed the new academic session will be calculated from Baishakh.
