Jaleshwar Municipality Calls for Cash Grant Applications from Returnees for Business
Jaleshwar Municipality, Office of the Municipal Executive, Mahottari, has issued a notice regarding cash grants for persons who have returned from foreign employment to start or expand a business. Eligible persons who wish to receive the grant have been requested to submit an application with the required documents at the municipality office within seven days from the date of publication of the notice.
This program has been implemented under the “Reintegration of Returnee Migrant Workers (REMI)” project, operated under the bilateral agreement between the Government of Nepal and the Government of Switzerland, the policy initiative of the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security, coordination of the Madhesh Province Government, technical support of Helvetas Nepal, and partnership with Pipara Rural Municipality, Mahottari.
According to the notice issued by the Chief Administrative Officer, cash grant amounts are to be handed over as per the “Technology Support Program Operating Procedure 2083” to persons registered at the REMI branch of Jaleshwar Municipality who wish to start a new business under the “Self-Employment and Entrepreneurship Promotion Program” or who are engaged in self-employment activities and wish to expand their business.
Eligibility of Beneficiaries for This Program

Must be Nepali returnees who have returned from foreign employment, except from India.

Must have a permanent address and residence within Jaleshwar Municipality.

Must have completed at least 18 years of age and must not have exceeded 60 years.

Must have a copy of the certificate of entrepreneurship training or must have participated in “GALS” training.

Must be listed at the Employment Service Center or entered in the REMI project database.
Documents to Be Submitted with the Application

An application in the format of Schedule 1 of the Technology Support Program Operating Procedure 2083 for Self-Employment and Entrepreneurship Promotion, along with the above-mentioned evidence, and a business plan as per Schedule 2.

Copy of Nepali citizenship certificate.

Copy of passport as proof of return from foreign employment, or evidence related to labour approval or other proof.
