Kathmandu Metropolitan City has taken a momentous step forward in the fight against environmental pollution. The city authorities have announced a comprehensive ban on specific plastic items that will significantly contribute to preserving the natural beauty of Kathmandu.

Ban Details

Effective Date: The ban will be enforced starting from 2080/4/1.

Banned Items:

  • Plastic flower bouquets and garlands
  • Plastic bags thinner than 40 microns

The use, sale, distribution, storage, and transportation of these items will be strictly prohibited.
