On 1 September 2024, the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar saw the inauguration of the "People's Library." This initiative marks a significant addition to the cultural resources available in the country.

The "People's Library" was launched under the leadership of Radhika Shakya, the wife of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. The event coincided with National Library Day, highlighting the importance of accessible knowledge. Two weeks prior to the inauguration, Shakya publicly invited authors and readers to contribute their favorite books that contain positive messages and are signed by them. This initiative has received ongoing support, with many contributing books to the collection.
