Rajarshi Janak University to Contribute to Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund for Flood-Affected People

Rajarshi Janak University has decided to provide financial assistance to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund for the relief and rehabilitation of people affected by the severe flood that struck the Bhote Koshi River in Rasuwa and downstream areas on Bhadra 10.

Expressing sorrow and condolences over the significant loss of life and property caused by the natural disaster in districts including Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, and Chitwan, the University announced the contribution. According to a decision of the University Executive Council, specified amounts will be deducted from the remuneration of officials, teachers, and employees at different levels under the University and deposited in the fund.

According to the notice issued by University Registrar Dr. Jeevan Kafle, the deductions are intended to support relief and rehabilitation efforts for families and communities affected by the flood. The Office of the Registrar stated that the amounts will be deducted when salaries for Bhadra 2083 are paid and deposited into the account of the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund.

Remuneration Deduction Details

The amounts to be deducted according to the positions of officials, teachers, and employees have been specified as follows:

  • Vice-Chancellor and Registrar: An amount equivalent to one month's salary

  • Dean, Director, Controller, Professor, Administrator, Associate Professor, Associate Administrator, and teachers and employees of equivalent positions: An amount equivalent to 15 days of the initial monthly salary scale

  • Assistant Dean, Assistant Controller, Lecturer, Deputy Administrator, or employees of equivalent positions: An amount equivalent to 10 days' salary

  • Assistant Professor, Section Officer, or employees of equivalent positions: An amount equivalent to 7 (seven) days' salary

  • Chief Office Assistant, Office Assistant, or employees of equivalent positions: An amount equivalent to 5 (five) days' salary

  • Drivers, Office Helpers, and other non-gazetted/classless employees: An amount equivalent to 2 (two) days' salary
