TU Senate Meeting Set for Ashoj 22 to Approve Budget

Tribhuvan University Senate Meeting on Ashoj 22 to Approve Policy, Budget and 64th Grace List

Kathmandu. The ordinary and annual-day meeting of the Tribhuvan University (TU) Senate is scheduled to be held on Thursday, Ashoj 22, beginning at 9:00 AM.

The meeting will be chaired by Minister for Education and Sports and TU Pro-Chancellor Sasmita Pokharel, who also serves as Vice-Chairperson of the Senate. A major agenda item is the presentation and approval of the university's policy, programs, and budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/084.

Main Agenda of the Meeting

• Policy and Budget: Registrar Dr. Rabindra Shivakoti will present the university's policy, programs, and budget for the upcoming fiscal year before the Senate.
• Approval of Rules and Directives: Proposals related to the approval of TU rules, regulations, procedures, work management systems, and directives will be presented.
• Nominations and Endorsement: The Senate will discuss and decide on proposals to endorse a nomination to the TU Executive Council and appoint the Chairperson and members of the Appeal Commission.
• Degrees and Grace List: As part of the annual-day meeting, degrees will be awarded to students based on recommendations from the Deans of various institutes and faculties, and the 64th Grace List will be approved.

Meeting Proceedings and Addresses

The meeting will be conducted by TU Rector and Senate Member-Secretary Prof. Dr. Anjana Maharjan Singh.

According to the agenda, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa will deliver the welcome address, while Pro-Chancellor and Minister Pokharel will address the Senate.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Rector Prof. Dr. Singh will deliver a vote of thanks, after which Pro-Chancellor Pokharel will conclude the Senate with her remarks.
