TU Pushes to Restore Academic Calendar: Pending Exams by Mid-July, Results Within 100 Days

Tribhuvan University (TU) has been rapidly conducting pending examinations to improve its irregular academic calendar. With the objective of conducting examinations according to the regular academic calendar from the coming Shrawan, TU has moved ahead with work to complete even the chance examinations pending since 2053 BS by the coming Ashar.

According to Laxman Paudel, Controller of Examinations at the TU Office of the Controller of Examinations, all examinations that could not be held regularly due to the coronavirus pandemic and the “Gen Z” movement will be completed by Ashar. To bring the academic calendar back on track, three to four types of examinations are currently being conducted every month. He said examinations listed in the academic calendar under 2083 BS will be conducted from the coming Shrawan.

The office has stated that around 115,000 examinees are participating in the examinations currently being held.

According to TU’s examination schedule, the examinations set for different months are as follows:

  • Baisakh: Examinations are being conducted for the second year of BA LLB at the bachelor’s level, the regular second year of the bachelor’s level, and the first and second years of B.Tech.

  • Jestha: The schedule has already been published for conducting the first-year examinations of three-year and four-year bachelor’s programs, the third year of BA LLB, and the third year of B.Tech.

  • Ashar: Regular fourth-year examinations of all bachelor’s-level faculties will be conducted.

In addition, the Office of the Controller of Examinations has also improved the timeline for publishing results. According to Controller of Examinations Paudel, examination results have now started being published within 100 days of the completion of examinations.
