Two Riyale Secondary School Students Excel in Madane Rural Municipality’s ‘Talent Hunt Campaign’; Various Education Sector Persons and Institutions Honored
Two girl students from the same school have excelled in the “Talent Hunt Campaign” conducted by Madane Rural Municipality of Gulmi. Anusha BK, a Grade 12 student of Riyale Secondary School located in Madane Rural Municipality-3, was declared the municipality-level best in dance, while Kalpana BK, a Grade 9 student of the same school, was declared the best in singing.
According to Sunil Thapa, coordinator of the judging panel, the rural municipality honored both outstanding students with cash prizes. The rural municipality has been conducting the “Talent Hunt Campaign” every year. Under the same campaign, outstanding schools, teachers, and students were also honored through the “Education Program with the Vice Chairperson.” Dron Bahadur Khatri, Chief of the District Coordination Committee and chief guest of the program, honored the outstanding talents.
According to Narayan Prasad Panthi, Education Officer of the rural municipality, and Khim Bahadur Kunwar of the Education Section, students, teachers, and schools were honored and awarded in various categories during the program. The details are as follows:
Schools Achieving 100 Percent Results
Head teachers of Deepak Secondary School, Riyale Secondary School, and Aglung Secondary School, which achieved 100 percent results in this year’s SEE examination, were honored.
Schools Achieving Outstanding Results
Head teachers of five schools that contributed to achieving outstanding results among all local levels in the district were honored.
Special Honor
Tik Bahadur Kunwar, who passed the SEE at the age of 65, was honored.
Outstanding Student Honors
Outstanding male and female students within the rural municipality, Dalit and Janajati male and female students, outstanding students from the technical stream, students who achieved excellent results in the learning achievement test, and 44 poor and hardworking students were honored. Similarly, prizes were awarded to students who secured top positions in the municipality-level Grade 8 examination.
Outstanding Teacher Honors
Fifteen teachers selected as outstanding by the Ward Education Committee were honored. Under the Educational Quality Assurance Program, 10 outstanding teachers were honored on the basis of evaluations by students and parents. Likewise, seven teachers each who helped students achieve high average performance in the theoretical component of the municipality-level Grade 5 and Grade 8 examinations were honored.
Learning Achievement
Schools that achieved outstanding results in the learning achievement test were also honored.
Speaking at the program, Rural Municipality Vice Chairperson Sarita Khadka said that the positive results of long-term investment in education and health had started to become visible. She stated that sufficient grounds had been prepared in the upcoming policies and programs to institutionalize the achievements gained.
District Coordination Committee Chief Khatri said that Madane Rural Municipality had achieved exemplary results in education and health within the district and stressed the need to further strengthen these achievements. He said that schools in Madane should reach a level that satisfies visitors who come for study and observation, and praised the creative programs related to talent hunting and educational improvement.
Rural Municipality Chairperson Mahendra Bahadur Kunwar said that infrastructure development alone has no meaning without social and economic development, and that the rural municipality has been working by giving high priority to education and health. He appreciated the contributions of teachers, school management committees, parents, students, and employees.
At the program, Chief Administrative Officer Bhimarjun Bhusal delivered the welcome remarks and highlighted the objective of the program, while Enterprise Development Facilitator Sushil Ghimire conducted the program.
