CTEVT Free Technical Education Scholarship for 78 Local Levels

Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT), Examination Control Office, Sanothimi, Bhaktapur - Online Application Notice for Pre-Diploma and Diploma/Certificate Level Admission.

As per the letters from the Technical Division of CTEVT (Ref. No. 3641 and 3642, dated 2082/03/19) and the Medical Education Commission (Ref. No. 3, dated 2082/04/02), and in accordance with the budget and programs under the Government of Nepal for Fiscal Year 2082/83, this notice is published for the purpose of admitting eligible Nepali students into technical education on a full scholarship.

This scholarship is intended for students permanently residing in 78 local levels where access to technical education has not yet been established. A total of 120 seats have been allocated, including 14 seats for pre-diploma programs and 106 seats for diploma/certificate level programs.

Applicants are required to complete the online application form by attaching all necessary documents as specified and submit it within the given timeframe.

Target Group

A total of 120 students who are permanent residents of the 78 local levels listed below, where technical education services have not yet reached

These 78 local levels have been identified as underserved in terms of access to technical education. Students who are permanent residents of these areas are eligible to apply for the 2082/83 CTEVT Special Scholarship Program.

For programs not listed under section (B), the Technical Division of CTEVT will assign suitable institutions and recommend applicants for admission accordingly.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria

(1) For Diploma/Certificate Level Programs

(a) Before the Implementation of the Letter Grading System

• Applicable for all diploma/certificate level programs

• Must have passed SLC or equivalent examination from a recognized institution with compulsory Mathematics, English, and Science

• Or must have passed Technical SLC/Pre-Diploma conducted by the Council with at least 68.33% marks in total

(b) After the Implementation of the Letter Grading System

• For Certificate Level in General Medicine and Medical Lab Technology:

  • Must have passed SEE or equivalent with compulsory English, Mathematics, and Science

  • Must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 out of 4.0, or equivalent

  • Or must have passed Technical SLC/Pre-Diploma conducted by the Council with at least 68.33% marks

• For other Diploma/Certificate Level (non-health) programs:

  • Must have passed SEE or equivalent with compulsory English, Mathematics, and Science

  • Must have a minimum GPA of 1.6 out of 4.0, or equivalent

  • Or must have passed Technical SLC/Pre-Diploma conducted by the Council with at least 68.33% marks

(2) For Pre-Diploma 18-Month Programs

• Before Letter Grading System: Passed SLC or equivalent from a recognized institution

• After Letter Grading System: Students who appeared in all subjects of SEE—including those marked as NG (Non-Graded)—are eligible to apply

Application Dates and Fee

• Start Date: 2082 Shrawan 11 (Sunday)

• Deadline: 2082 Shrawan 29 (Thursday) at 11:59 PM

• Application Fee: Free of cost

Required Documents to Be Submitted

Applicants must submit certified copies of all documents. Incomplete applications will be rejected.

• Certified copy of Citizenship Certificate or minor ID such as Birth Certificate

• SEE, Technical SLC/Pre-Diploma mark sheet and character certificate, and test score sheet for 29-month SLC, if applicable

• Migration and equivalency certificate (for students who passed from non-SEE boards)

• Recent passport-size photo (35x45mm) clearly showing the face

• For those with migrated residence: a certified letter from the local body showing migration occurred at least six months prior to the notice publication date

Selection Process

• Based on average GPA obtained in SEE

• Additional score weighting:

  • Graduated from Government/Community school: multiplied by 1

  • Graduated from Institutional school: multiplied by 0.85

• For SLC before the letter grading system: marks will be converted into GPA

GPA to Grade Conversion Table

Tie-Breaking Criteria

• If GPA is equal, ranking will be based on Final Grades in Mathematics, Science, and English

• If still equal, preference will be given to candidates from remote or backward regions

• If tie remains, older candidate by birthdate will be prioritized

GPA Calculation (Pre-Grading System)

• GPA = 2 × (Grade Point × Credit Hour) ÷ Total Credit Hour

• Final merit list will be published by the Examination Control Office

• Summary will be published in Gorkhapatra Daily

• Full results will be available at www.ctevtexam.org.np

• For all programs except General Medicine and Lab Tech, CTEVT's Technical Division will assign institutions and recommend students for admission

If Seats Remain Vacant

• If quotas in specific programs within designated local levels remain unfilled, seats will be reallocated to qualified applicants from other programs or provinces based on highest merit

Registration Instructions

• Admission and registration must be completed by 2082 Mangsir 25

• Institutions must enter data in the ITMS system and submit the complete file to the respective provincial office

• Registration fees must be deposited online by Mangsir 26 into the Council's account or provincial office account

• Final registration files must be submitted no later than Mangsir 29

Facilities Provided to Selected Students

• Monthly Living Allowance: Rs. 3,500

• Annual Travel Allowance: Rs. 1,500

• Annual Clothing Allowance: Rs. 2,500

• Free hostel accommodation for the entire training period

• Students already registered and studying under any other CTEVT program are not eligible to apply. If found, applications will be automatically cancelled

• Classes will begin from the third week of Bhadra 2082
