Nepal Government, Ministry of Home Affairs, Armed Police Force, Nepal Headquarters, Human Resource Department, Human Resource Directorate, Recruitment and Selection Branch, Halchowk, Swayambhu, Kathmandu.

To fill vacant positions in the General Group and General Sub-Group within the Armed Police Force, Nepal (APF Nepal), applications are invited from eligible Nepali citizens through open competition. Applicants may submit their applications either online or in person by attaching a Rs. 10/- revenue stamp at the designated Armed Police Force, Nepal offices of their choice.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

Post: Armed Police Constable

• Must have completed 18 years and not exceeded 22 years on the date of advertisement publication
  (Date of Birth between 2060/05/06 and 2064/05/06).

• Must have passed at least Grade 8.

• Height and weight:

  • For male: Minimum 5 feet 2 inches height and minimum 50 kg weight.

  • For female: Minimum 5 feet height and minimum 42 kg weight.

• Must possess Nepali citizenship certificate.

• For male: Chest must be at least 30 inches when not expanded and 32 inches when expanded
  (not applicable for female).

• Eyesight should not be weaker than minus 2 or plus 2.

• Must obtain a medical fitness certificate from an approved doctor assigned by Headquarters
  (conducted during examination process).

• Must obtain good character recommendations from two gazetted officers of Government of Nepal,
  excluding relatives and educational institution where the applicant studied.

• Must not have been punished by court in any criminal offense indicating moral turpitude.

• Must not be a member of any political party at the time of application.

• Must not be a member of any terrorist organization.

• Must not have been dismissed from job in a way that disqualifies for future government service.

• Must not have been punished for violation of human rights and humanitarian law.

• Must not have been punished for espionage against Nepal.

Post: Armed Police Attendant (Various Trades)

• Must have completed 18 years and not exceeded 25 years on the date of advertisement publication
  (Date of Birth between 2057/05/06 and 2064/05/06).

• Must be literate (able to read and write).

• Height and weight:

  • For male: Minimum 5 feet height and minimum 50 kg weight.

  • For female: Minimum 4 feet 10 inches height and minimum 42 kg weight.

• Must possess the other qualifications mentioned in Constable post (except points (a), (b), and (g)).

Revenue Fees

1. Post: Armed Police Constable

• Application Fee: Rs. 300 (Three Hundred) to be paid while submitting the application form.

• For Inclusive Groups: An additional 20% of the examination fee per group (Rs. 60 per group) must be paid if applying under more than one inclusive group.

• Payment Method: The fee must be deposited into the revenue bank account number, office code, and revenue title number specified by the concerned recruitment centers.

• Submission: The original voucher and one copy of the voucher must be submitted along with the application form.

2. Post: Armed Police Attendant (Various Trades)

• Application Fee: Rs. 200 (Two Hundred) to be paid while submitting the application form.

• For Inclusive Groups: An additional 20% of the examination fee per group (Rs. 40 per group) must be paid if applying under more than one inclusive group.

• Payment Method: The fee must be deposited into the revenue account at Rastriya Banijya Bank Ltd., Central Office, in the name of Armed Police Force, Nepal Headquarters.

Documents Required

Candidates must submit the original documents for verification along with self-attested copies as mentioned below. Overwritten or double-written certificates will not be accepted.

• Copy of Nepali citizenship certificate – 1 copy.

• Recently taken passport-size photographs (both ears visible) – 3 copies.

• Copy of the minimum academic qualification certificates required for the advertised post – 1 copy each (including character, permanent/provisional certificates, and mark sheets of each level. For education completed outside Nepal, equivalence certificate from the authorized office of the Government of Nepal must be submitted).

• For children of deceased/disabled Armed Police personnel: Certificate confirming status and relationship certificate – 1 copy.

• For Indigenous/Janajati: Certificate issued by Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities confirming status – 1 copy.

• For Madhesi: Certificate issued by designated institutions as per Government Gazette notification. If no institution is designated, recommendation from the local authority and certification from the Chief District Officer – 1 copy.

• For Dalit: Certificate issued by the National Dalit Commission – 1 copy. If more than one caste surname is listed under the recognized caste group, certification from the Chief District Officer based on local authority recommendation, or recommendation from ward office as per Cabinet decision dated 2075/04/23 – original copy.

• For Backward Areas: Applicants must be permanent residents of Achham, Kalikot, Jajarkot, Jumla, Dolpa, Bajhang, Bajura, Mugu, or Humla districts, with citizenship certificate issued from the same district, and recommendation from respective Rural Municipality/Municipality confirming permanent residence up to the date of application submission – original copy.

Important Notes

• Applications without required revenue fee or submitted after deadline will not be accepted.

• For Armed Police Constable post, applications can be submitted at any of the listed offices. All examinations from preliminary physical test to interview will be conducted at the respective contact office.

• Candidates applying online must, by 2082/06/07, personally visit the designated office with:

  • Printed copy of the submitted application form

  • Original revenue voucher

  • Good character recommendations from two gazetted officers (excluding relatives and educational institution staff)

  • Rs. 10 stamp

  • All documents mentioned in Section 7

  • Admit card will be provided only upon personal attendance. Failure to appear will automatically cancel the application.

• Candidates must carry the admit card and original citizenship certificate for every stage of the exam.

• Results will be published after each stage; only successful candidates may proceed to the next stage.

• Common examinations will be conducted for both open and inclusive categories. Selection for inclusive groups will be made separately based on obtained marks.

• Additional fees will be charged for detailed and special health examinations as prescribed.

• Written/practical exams and interviews will be conducted by the Public Service Commission.

• Result publication order: Open, Women, Indigenous/Janajati, Madhesi, Dalit, Backward Area, Children of Deceased/Disabled APF Personnel.

• Male candidates must trim hair short to make both ears visible during the preliminary physical test.

• Candidates themselves will be responsible for any accidents during the selection process.

• As per Armed Police Regulation 2072, Rule 12(5), vacant posts arising until the interview results are published may be included under the same advertisement.

• Selected candidates must undergo basic training of the relevant rank as prescribed by Armed Police Force, Nepal Headquarters.

Note

As per the mandamus order issued on 2079/10/24 by the Honorable Supreme Court in relation to Writ No. 078-WO-0384, where Armed Police Force, Nepal Headquarters, Halchowk, Kathmandu was also a respondent, after arranging necessary legal provisions, the ratio of posts under inclusive groups shall be maintained. Posts lost in FY 2079/080 due to non-inclusion of legally designated inclusive groups will also be adjusted and compensated as per law. Until then, recruitment will proceed under the existing laws.

For employees currently serving in the Armed Police Service:

• Maximum age limit: 30 years (Born on or before 2052/05/06).

• Must have completed the basic training of the relevant rank.

• Must not have been subjected to departmental action or be under investigation.

• Recommendation letter from the concerned office must be submitted along with the application form.
