The ADB-Nepal Resident Mission (NRM) was established to assist its Headquarters in the implementation of projects and programs, in project processing, country programming, and economic and sector work. It also coordinates ADB's activities with other resident diplomatic and donor missions, NGOs, academic institutions, local think tanks, the private sector, and other members of the civil society.
Position: Senior Climate Change Officer
Description of Responsibilities
The Senior Climate Change Officer provides technical and administrative support for achieving ADB's Paris alignment commitments and Strategy 2030 objectives; assist in optimizing climate mitigation and adaptation in-country strategies and partnership; support integration of climate change actions at the project level, tracking climate change investments in coordination with Climate Change & Disaster Risk Management Division (SDCD), and assessing and managing targeted climate change funding. The incumbent will report to designated international staff (IS) and will supervise national and administrative staff (AS).
Selection Criteria
- Bachelor's degree in a development-related field, such as climate and environmental sciences, environmental economics and management, water or natural resources management, resource economics, or other similar disciplines, preferably with
experience on renewable energy, and advanced training on environmental sustainability or any other climate-related field; a Master's degree will be an advantage; - At least 8 years relevant experience in climate-related project and research work and at least 4 years of supervisory experience;
- Proficient in the field of climate change, environmental planning, and management, including climate and disaster risk and vulnerability
assessment, pollution prevention strategies, and other related tools/strategies; - Experience in climate change project design and implementation;
- Aptitude to perform analytical and conceptual thinking;
