KATHMANDU UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING -Expression of Interest for Faculty Position in Mining Engineering Program

Commencing from Academic Year 2080/81, Kathmandu University School of Engineering has launched an Undergraduate Program in Mining Engineering for the first time in Nepal. The mining sector in Nepal is currently in its early stages of development. Although the country boasts abundant natural resources, and the government has also shown its commitment to developing the mining industry, which is reflected in various budget speeches, progress has been limited due to the scarcity of skilled human resources needed to propel its growth. To address this perennial gap in the skilled human resources in the field, Mining Engineering program was initiated at KU and is planned to run in close collaboration with various national and international organizations and the Government of Nepal aiming to utilize the untapped mining resources of the country.
The curriculum for mining engineering has been developed in accordance with the industry needs and to allow the graduates of the program to be retained not only in the sector of mining but also in other sectors such as underground construction and engineering geology. The unique nature of the course will aid the utilize the natural resources of the country using its own skilled human resources.
KU invites expression of interest from dynamic and competent candidates who are willing to take up faculty positions on a full-time contract basis.
