Nick Simons Institute (NSI) is an organization with a mission to innovate solutions in rural healthcare—through training and hospital support and to advocate for healthcare workers with the government of Nepal. Since its establishment in 2006 NSI has been working with the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) in strengthening the rural healthcare services through its Hospital Support Program (HSP) throughout the country. NSI is seeking qualified and suitable candidates for the following positions:

1. Title/Position: Medical Officer (Few)

Core Responsibility

Location: Government District Hospital                    

• Work in a government district hospital as a Medical Officer.

Terms: 1 year 

• Provide day-to-day clinical care to patients.

  • Conduct deliveries and identify obstetric complications and manage accordingly.
  • Interested to receive ASBA training and perform C-Section independently.

Minimum Qualification and Requirements:

  • MBBS graduate with valid NMC registration.
  • Competent, energetic and ready to work in a rural setting in a district hospital.

2. Title/Position: Staff Nurse (Few)

Core Responsibility:

Location: Government District Hospital                    

• Work in a government district hospital as a Staff Nurse.

Terms: 1 year 

• Provide day-to-day nursing care to patients.

  • Conduct normal deliveries and identify obstetric complications and manage accordingly.
  • Work with hospital surgical team as the Operation Theater (OT) nurse.

Required Qualifications:                                             

Preferable:

  • PCL Nursing from recognized Nursing school.
  • Skilled Birth Attended (SBA) training
  • Active Registration with Nepal Nursing Council
  • Native working District or nearby districts
  • 1 year of previous work experience
  • Experience in OT nursing

3. Title/Position: BMET (Few)

Location: Government District Hospital

Terms: 1 year

Core Responsibility:

  • Conduct repair and maintenance of biomedical equipment and keep them in working condition.
  • Inventory of equipment.
  • Conduct Preventive Maintenance routinely.

Required Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of DBEE/BMET training.
  • Good knowledge of electronics and experience of the maintenance and repair of bio-medical equipment.
  • Some knowledge of Nepal's health care system.
