Plan International has been working in Nepal since 1978. Plan International Nepal invites applications from all candidates with priority from females, minorities, and youth groups for the following position:

Position: Accountant - 1

Position Fixed-Term Employment of 2 years from the date of employment-based in the Country Office

  • The purpose of this position is to review and ensure all the supporting documents are in accordance with the Plan International Nepal Operational Manual, policies and procedures of the organisation, and Income tax and VAT acts of the Government of Nepal.
  • S/he needs to ensure all the documents are correct, relevant, reliable, and reasonable before processing the payments and settlements.
  • S/he is required to prepare vouchers correctly in line with the Plan accounting code ensuring correct and complete documents in compliance with the Internal control system and segregation of duties. S/he also needs to ensure correct booking of accruals and prepayment every month along with the correct amount of tax deduction at source, submit a tax return to the Inland Revenue office on time as well as provide a TDS certificate to all the vendors and consultants including Plan staff.

The position holder is required to reconcile, book and process the intercompany recharge on time in absence of the Finance Officer to clear them before the period gets closed. Proper documentation and well-maintained filing are one of the key roles of this position.
