Right4Children, an organization committedly involved in the areas of child protection, education and livelihood development in Pokhara and other parts of the country, is looking for a dynamic, qualified and experienced individual for the following position based in Pokhara.

1. Education Officer

Project: Improving School Environment and Advocacy of Child Rights through the Media

Qualifications required:

  • Thorough knowledge of the Nepalese education system and well familiar with the concepts of child rights and child-friendly school (CFS)
  • Proven project management experience, preferably in the area of Education
  • Excellent skills in partnership building and relationship management, training
    and facilitation, communication, and negotiation, teamwork, and motivation
  • Very good command over English and Nepali languages, both in writing and speaking
  • Bachelor's degree (Master preferred) preferably in Education with 5 years' experience in the relevant field.

Key roles & responsibilities:

Project designing and management including action plan preparation, budgeting, and implementation schedule; Identify and prioritize the needs of the beneficiary schools together with the school team and other stakeholders-SMC/PTA, parents, and local government representatives; Develop appropriate action plans for the immediate response and for long term interventions to create and promote child-friendly environment in the schools; Equip and orient the schools to provide quality education; Organize and conduct training sessions for SMC, PTA, Child Clubs, Teachers and other stakeholders on quality improvement, responsibility, and accountability; build a strong and close coordination with relevant district and local government agencies and stakeholders; Monitor the progress of the project and produce quality reports; Frequent travel to the rural areas of Kaski district as the position is mostly field-based.

2. Gender Protection Officer

Project: Promoting Young Women in Employment in the Tourism Sector

Qualifications required:

  • Very good working knowledge in the area of gender and social inclusion
  • Excellent skills on networking, partnership building, training and facilitation, communication and negotiation, teamwork and motivation
  • Very good command over English and Nepali languages, both in writing and speaking
  • Bachelor's degree (Master preferred) in Gender & Development Studies, Sociology, Rural Development, Social Work, Human Rights, or related studies with 3 years of proven experience in the related field.

Key responsibilities:

Identifying training needs and organize trainings in gender equality and gender-responsive environment; Conduct protection training to the participants of vocational training (incorporating issues of human rights, labor rights, safe migration, gender equality human trafficking, being assertive and stick and stone); ensure integration and implementation of Gender Transformative Approach in the project implementation and monitoring.; Follow up to ensure women-friendly training modalities and approaches are being practiced by employers and labor market stakeholders; Support in monitoring, evaluation and reporting on gender mainstreaming by ensuring the collection of relevant baseline information and formulation of indicators.

3. Social Mobilization Officer

Project: Promoting Young Women in Employment in the Tourism Sector

Qualifications required:

  • Very good working knowledge and experience in community mobilization, vocational training, and tourism sector.
  • Excellent skills on networking, partnership building, training and facilitation, communication and negotiation, teamwork and motivation
  • Very good command over English and Nepali languages, both in writing and speaking
  • Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Rural Development, Social Work, Development studies or related studies with 3 years of proven experience in the related field. Key responsibilities

Conduct social mapping to find out potential youth for job training identifying their occupational interest following gender, PWD and marginalized group's ratio; Build rapport and regular communication with trainee/parents/targeted communities to ensure their involvement in retaining the trainees and send their young children/Youth to decent job through skills training; Conduct workshop/orientation/meeting with various stakeholders to promote decent work and gender equality; Coordinate among training partners and others relevant stakeholders; Ensure that planned training programs are being carried out by training partners as per the timeline; Produce regular and periodic project progress reports.

Salary for all the positions will be based on the proven track record of experience, achievements, and qualification
