TAC Hydro Consultancy Pvt. Ltd., an Engineering Consultancy Firm dedicated to project development, engineering design, construction supervision and other technical works of Hydropower and Irrigation Projects, requires a few candidates with following Qualifications:

1. Engineering Geologist

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Undertake tunnel geology assessments, focusing on rock classification as per face mapping.
  • Analyze geological conditions to support safe and efficient tunnel construction in hydropower projects.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams to provide insights and recommendations based on geological data.
  • Conduct field surveys, geological mapping, and rock sampling to ensure accurate classification.
  • Use specialized tools and equipment to gather geological data and monitor tunnel conditions.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports detailing rock classification, geological hazards, and recommendations.
  • Liaise with geotechnical engineers and other experts to ensure integration of geological findings.
  • Stay updated with advancements in tunnel geology and contribute to the development of best practices.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum master’s degree in Geology or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in tunnel geology, specifically in rock classification as per face mapping.
  • Sound knowledge of geological principles, rock types, and classification methodologies.
  • Proficiency in geotechnical software and tools used for geological assessments.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail in interpreting geological data.
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Willingness to work in remote locations and travel as required.

2. Tunnel Engineer

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise in tunnel design, construction, and management for hydropower projects.
  • Conduct geotechnical investigations and assessments to determine tunnel feasibility and design parameters.
  • Develop tunnel designs, including alignment, cross-sections, support systems, and excavation methods.
  • Review and interpret geological and geotechnical data for tunnelling projects.
  • Collaborate with geotechnical specialists to develop ground support recommendations and excavation plans.
  • Support the preparation of technical specifications, drawings, and contract documents related to tunnel construction.
  • Monitor and supervise tunnel construction activities to ensure compliance with design standards, safety regulations, and project schedules.
  • Assist in the resolution of technical challenges and provide guidance to contractors and project teams.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation related to tunnel engineering activities.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in tunnel engineering.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum master’s degree in Geotechnical or Tunnel Engineering.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Tunnel Engineer in design or construction, preferably in the field of hydropower tunnels.
  • Enthusiastic with knowledge in fundamental aspects of tunnel engineering principles, geotechnical investigations, tunnel construction techniques and eager to learn and update.
  • Software knowledge: full proficiency in Auto CAD, Phase 2, PLAXIS and other design and analysis tools.
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Flexibility and mobility to travel to site is expected.

3. Sr Hydropower Engineer

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage hydropower projects, providing professional solutions from concept development to project commissioning, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
  • Oversee project layout and design, including headworks, waterways, and powerhouse layouts.
  • Demonstrate expertise in hydraulic design, including hydro-mechanical requirements of gates, valves, and trash racks.
  • Assist in preparing technical reports (pre-feasibility, feasibility study, detailed design, tender design), documentation, and progress updates for effective project communication.
  • Mentor and lead a team of engineers, ensuring successful project delivery and collaboration.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to ensure project compliance and client satisfaction.
  • Conduct quality assurance to ensure engineering designs meet standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Stay updated with industry advancements, continuously improving processes and technical capabilities.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum master’s degree in hydropower, hydraulics, water resource, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience in hydropower engineering and hydraulic design.
  • Strong leadership skills and project management experience.
  • Excellent command in English ‑both speaking and writing- is a must.
  • Proficiency in relevant design software and project management tools.
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Flexibility and mobility to travel to site is expected.

4. Resident Engineer:

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the installation and supervision of pipes and gates at the hydropower project site, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams to develop detailed installation plans, schedules, and resource allocation for mechanical components.
  • Monitor and oversee the installation process, ensuring efficient workflow, safety compliance, and timely project milestones.
  • Conduct quality control inspections and tests to verify the integrity of installed mechanical systems, including pipes and gates.
  • Proactively identify and address any installation challenges or discrepancies to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure the smooth procurement and delivery of mechanical components.
  • Document installation activities, progress reports, and quality control records for accurate project documentation.
  • Uphold strict compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards throughout the installation process

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 year of hands-on experience in the installation and supervision of pipes and gates at a hydropower project site.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, particularly in hydropower project applications.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications related to pipes and gates.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of quality control procedures and the ability to conduct inspections and tests.

5. Civil Engineer

6. Hydropower Engineer

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support in hydropower projects, from site selection to project commissioning.
  • Design capabilities in different disciplines of Hydraulics, assisting in headworks, waterways, surge shaft and powerhouse layouts.
  • Design capabilities in different disciplines of hydraulics.
  • Understanding of hydromechanical requirements of gates, valves, stoplogs, etc.
  • Preparing technical reports (pre-feasibility, feasibility study, detailed design, tender design), documentation, and progress updates for effective project communication.
  • Liaising with supervisors, draftsperson and other specialists on issues relating to the designated tasks

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum masters degree in hydropower, hydraulics, water resource, structural or civil engineering.
  • At least 5 years of working experience in the hydraulic design of hydropower components.
  • Enthusiastic with knowledge in fundamental aspects of civil engineering and eager to learn and update.
  • Excellent command in English- both speaking and writing.
  • Software Knowledge: Full proficiency in MS Office, Auto CAD and one of the hydraulic modelling software.
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Flexibility and mobility to travel to site is expected.
