Teachers Service Commission Invites Applications for Appointment of Chairperson and Two Members

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has invited applications for the vacant posts of Chairperson and two Members, including one woman. According to the notice published on 1 Shrawan 2083, eligible and interested Nepali citizens may submit duly completed applications within 15 days of the notice publication date, by 15 Shrawan 2083.

The applications have been invited for the purpose of making recommendations to the Government of Nepal in accordance with the “Procedures Relating to the Meetings and Selection of the Recommendation Committee Formed to Recommend Appointments to the Chairperson and Members of the Teachers Service Commission, 2083,” approved by the Recommendation Committee.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates seeking appointment to the posts of Chairperson and Member of the Commission must meet the following qualifications:

  • Must be a Nepali citizen.

  • Must have obtained at least a master’s degree from a university recognized by the Government of Nepal.

  • Must not have been a member of any political party for at least two years before the date of appointment.

  • Must have completed 40 years of age and must not exceed 65 years of age.

  • Must have worked for at least 15 years in the field of law, education, or administration.

  • Special experience requirement: A candidate for Chairperson must have experience serving in the Special Class of the Government of Nepal. A candidate for Member must have worked for at least 15 years in the field of law, education, or administration.

Application Fee

  • Candidates must pay an application fee of Rs. 5,000/- (five thousand) for each post.

  • The bank voucher showing that the amount has been deposited under Teachers Service Commission Office Code No. 350213303 and Revenue Heading No. 14224 must be submitted with the application.

Documents to Be Submitted with the Application

Candidates must include certified documents showing the following details:

  • Application details in accordance with Schedule 1 of the procedures.

  • Copies of the Nepali citizenship certificate and certificates of the minimum academic qualification. If the qualification was obtained from a foreign educational institution, an equivalence certificate must also be submitted.

  • Certified documents from the relevant institution clearly showing more than one year of work experience in the related field.

  • A personal profile containing contact details and two recently taken passport-size photographs.

  • Proof showing that the candidate will not have completed 65 years of age by the application deadline.

  • A self-declaration in accordance with Schedule 2 of the procedures and a declaration stating that the candidate has not been a member of any political party for the past two years.

  • Bank voucher or receipt confirming payment of the application fee.

  • Certified copies of any other documents related to the post for which the application is being submitted.

Provisions Relating to the Concept Paper and Work Plan

Candidates must submit three copies of a professional work plan incorporating a concept paper for the institution. The following conditions apply:

  • The professional work plan, including the concept paper, must not exceed 5,000 words.

  • It must be computer-typed in Nepali or English on A4-size paper.

  • The professional work plan must include a first page prepared in accordance with Schedule 3 of the procedures.

  • Of the three copies submitted, the candidate must sign every page of one copy and seal it in a separate envelope. The candidate’s name, signature, or any identifying mark must not appear on any page of the other two copies, which must be placed and sealed in another separate envelope. Both sealed envelopes must then be placed inside a larger envelope, sealed, and submitted.

  • The presentation of the professional work plan, including the concept paper, must be submitted in both hard copy and soft copy. The pen drive must also be sealed inside a separate envelope and submitted.

Application Collection Process and Further Information

  • Deadline and location: Applications will be collected at the Secretariat of the Recommendation Committee, Teachers Service Commission, during office hours until 15 Shrawan 2083. If the final date falls on a public holiday, applications may be submitted on the next working day.

  • Evaluation: Candidates who submit duly completed applications will be evaluated as prescribed in the Procedures, 2083.

  • Form download: The application form may be downloaded from the Ministry of Education and Sports website (www.moest.gov.np) and the Commission’s website (www.tsc.gov.np).

  • The notice states that applicants may contact the Teachers Service Commission if they require clarification regarding the application. The procedures and the Education Act, 2028 are also available on the websites of the Ministry and the Commission.
