Mercy Corps Nepal has been operational since 2005, implementing various programs in food security, agriculture, market development, financial services, youth engagement, climate change adaptation, and disaster risk reduction. To support our ongoing efforts, we are currently seeking a GESI Officer for our Surkhet-based position.
Position: Gender Equality & Social Inclusion (GESI) Officer
Location: Surkhet, Nepal
Duration: One year (with possibility of extension)
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with project partners to ensure effective implementation of GESI activities
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams on gender, social inclusion, and GESI-related issues
- Conduct field visits and provide regular progress reports on GESI-related activities
- Promote gender and social inclusion in all project activities
- Participate in program planning and design, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in social sciences or related fields
- At least two years of experience in GESI-related work
- Sound knowledge and understanding of gender, social inclusion, and GESI-related issues in Nepal
- Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills
- Good computer skills, including MS Office applications
