Vacancy Announcement at World Vision International Nepal

World Vision International Nepal (WVIN), an international Christian relief, development, and advocacy organization dedicated to working with children, families, and communities to overcome poverty and injustice, is looking for potential candidates to fill out the following positions:

1. Position: Chief of Party (CoP) - One

Key Responsibilities:

- The Chief of Party will be responsible for the overall management and representation of the activity. S/he will manage a team of senior staff, sub-recipients, and engagement with stakeholders to ensure quality, timeliness, and efficiency of all products and activities generated under the cooperative agreement. This role will serve as the principal institutional liaison to the donor and local government entities.

- S/he also provides strategic leadership and supervision of sub-grantees and sub-contractors while ensuring the security, feasibility, and sustainability of the program and contribution to Child wellbeing outcomes.

- Mandatory travels to implementation sites and regional, global meetings as required. Minimum Qualifications and Experience required: Master's degree in development studies, international relations, agriculture, nutrition, public health, business administration, or related field combined with a minimum of seven years of progressively increasing management responsibility in international relief/recovery/DRR projects is required.

- Knowledge of and familiarity with international assistance program requirements, preferably USAID Office of Food for Peace (FFP) policies, rules, and regulations. Proven ability in the management of large integrated projects in developing countries. Familiarity with USAID programs, their history, and their development; mastery of USAID regulations governing such programs.

- Familiarity with the Upper Nile Nepal context is a plus. Demonstrated accomplishment in working with host-country professionals, ministries and with donor colleagues in the country. Experience as a Chief of Party/DCoP/Program Director or senior advisor roles is required. Should have demonstrated experience in recruiting, developing, and managing staff, as well as experience managing programmatic and financial reporting.

2. Position: Monitoring and Evaluation Lead - One

Key Responsibilities:

- The M&E Lead will be responsible for developing and implementing the M&E system and plan, including a database to store and aggregate collected data. S/he will also provide technical guidance and supervision of sub-grantees and/or sub-contractors on Monitoring and Evaluation related issues.

- Minimum Qualifications and Experience required: Master's degree in statistics or economics; or a degree in relevant field with substantial course work in quantitative methods with a minimum of five years of professional experience in designing and implementing M&E systems in the context of humanitarian response or DRR programs is required.

- Two years of applicable experience can substitute for a master's degree. Demonstrated experience in leading M&E of a large award (multi-sectoral and multi-stakeholder US Government funded project).

- Knowledge of and familiarity with international assistance program preferably USAID Office or Food for Peace (FFP) policies is required. We should have strong conceptual knowledge about ToCs, logic model, food and nutrition security indicators, M&E plans, data quality assurance, data utilization, and gender integration into M&E.

- Demonstrated expertise in designing annual monitoring surveys including annual beneficiary based sample surveys, probabilistic sampling strategy and estimating sample size, developing a proper sampling frame and establish appropriate weights, clean, process, store quantitative data.

- Demonstrated expertise in designing qualitative studies, in-depth knowledge about qualitative sampling, and experience in using interviews and interactive tools to generate qualitative information and analysis.

- Demonstrated experience in developing data quality assurance strategies, data management, use of technology for getting just in time data and data visualization. Knowledge of and familiarity with international assistance program Monitoring and Evaluation requirements, preferably USAID Office or Food for Peace (FFP) policies.

3. Position: Disaster Risk Reduction Specialist - One

Key Responsibilities:

- The DRR Specialist will be responsible to provide technical leadership across all project's Disaster Risk Reduction programming, and to lead the implementation of DRR activities, and ensure the project's annual KPIs and targets related to DRR are achieved.

- S/he will facilitate development and effective implementation of local disaster risk management plans to promote community-based disaster management initiatives aiming to increase the resilience of children, communities, as well as local government officials,  to be better prepared for and able to respond to natural hazards.

- The Disaster Risk Reduction Specialist position will also manage relationships with external DRR partners/networks and works in close coordination with the government and stakeholders and field offices. S/he will also provide technical guidance and supervision of sub-grantees and/or sub-contractors on DRR related issues.

- Minimum Qualifications and Experience required: Master's degree in Disaster Risk Management; or a degree in relevant field with substantial experience in DRR programming with a minimum of five years of professional experience in designing and implementing DRR projects in the context of humanitarian response.

- Demonstrated experience in leading the DRR project of a large award (multi-sectoral and multi-stakeholder US Government funded project). Knowledge of and familiarity with international assistance programs preferably USAID Office or Food for Peace (FFP) policies.

- Strong conceptual knowledge about ToCs, logic model, resilience indicators, DRM plans, data quality assurance, data utilization, and gender integration into M&E. Demonstrated experience and expertise in developing and operationalizing a comprehensive DRM plan.

- Demonstrated expertise and experience in developing and operationalizing routine DRR monitoring systems. Familiarity with development theory, community-based disaster management, DRM frameworks, Vulnerability, and Capacity Assessment. Knowledge of and familiarity with international assistance program DRR requirements, preferably USAID Office or Food for Peace (FFP) policies.

- Core competencies for all the positions: Must have previous experience of managing USAID grants successfully; At least 5 years of experience designing, implementing and managing large and complex projects involving multiple partners, in/for developing countries; Excellent oral and written English & Nepali.

- Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications including use of Microsoft Office; Ready to take initiatives and willing to work under pressure and exhibit a high level of flexibility; Hold a high level of integrity and honesty, self-motivated, confident, and able to work independently; Strategic, creative, and innovative thinking with decision making and problem solving skills; Good understanding of humanitarian Sector;
