The School of Arts at Kathmandu University announces opening of admissions for the following Bachelors and Masters level programs for the August Session 2023:

Bachelor Programs:

  • Bachelor in Media Studies
  • Bachelor in Community Development
  • Bachelor in Economics
  • Bachelor in Yogic Sciences and Wellbeing
  • Bachelor in Music
  • Bachelor of Fine Arts
  • Bachelor of Craft and Design


Nepali or Non-Nepali national with 10+2 or equivalent level education of at least 1.60 CGPA or 40% in aggregate. (applicants with transcripts issued by NEB before 2022 should have minimum of 2.0 CGPA or 45% in aggregate). GCE Advanced Level students should have passed minimum three subjects in A Level and one general paper in AS Level with minimum 40% PUM in aggregate.

Deadline to Apply: July 14, 2023

Master Level Programs:

  • Master in Media Studies
  • MA in Music
  • Master in Urban Studies


Nepali or Non-Nepali national with a minimum of 2.0 CGPA out of 4 or 45% or second division marks in aggregate.

Deadline to Apply: July 14, 2023 for Master in Media Studies and MA in Music; July 27, 2023 for Master in Urban Studies


  • Merit-based scholarship for semester toppers
  • Need-based scholarship for students from low-income families
  • Scholarship for Lalitpur Metropolitan City
  • Student exchange opportunity at Western Sydney University (3-5 students/ year)
  • UGC formula funding scheme for Master level programs

20% of the total approved seats (10% for foreign students, and the rest to maintain the inclusion policy) are reserved in each program.
