Kathmandu University School of Education Call for PhD Position

Kathmandu University School of Education Call for Ph.D. Position:

Kathmandu University, School of Education is implementing a multi-country research project "Linking Education and Labor Markets: Under what conditions can Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) improve the income of the youth?"

The project is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation and is being led by the Swiss Federal Institute for Technology, ETH Zurich. Apart from Nepal, this same research is also being carried out in Benin, Chile, and Costa Rica. As per the Project's provision, one Ph.D. position is opened for the 2020 February batch.

The Ph.D. position is a three-year full-time study staying within the main research theme of the project. The selected fellow will receive full tuition fees and stipend. If employed somewhere, s/he needs to submit a formal letter of leave for three years from the employer. Candidates who meet the following criteria can apply

  • 17 years of formal education
  • A minimum of 50% score in aggregate or CGPA 3 out of 4 in the last degree in related fields
  • An MPhil degree and publications of research articles are preferred
  • A good understanding of the technical and vocational education sector, economics, sociology, and statistics is highly preferred Applicants are required to submit their research proposal (about 4000 words) along with the duly filled application form.
