M.Ed. in Mathematics Education is one of the long-running academic programs at KUSOED. Mathematics Education began as a dedicated unit in 2006 with this master’s program. In 2019, the unit was extended into the Department of STEAM Education, broadening its work into Mathematics, Science, Technology, and interdisciplinary STEAM Education.
The M.Ed. retains a clear mathematics education identity. A substantial part of the curriculum is devoted to mathematical study, while specialization courses address how mathematics is taught, learned, organized through curriculum, assessed, and supported through information and communication technology.

Research Methodology is included earlier in the curriculum, while the final research route gives students a structured opportunity to undertake academic inquiry within mathematics or Mathematics Education.
Eligibility: Entry routes include B.Ed., PGDE, BA, B.Sc. in Mathematics or Physical Sciences, or B.E., with at least second division or a CGPA of 2.5 out of 4. Applicants who have completed KUSOED’s Bridge Course in Mathematics also have an entry pathway to the program.
KUSOED’s Mathematics Education eligibility framework also identifies relevant bachelor-level backgrounds in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Science with Physics, and academic study that includes a substantial Mathematics component.
KUSOED offers a separate six-month Bridge Course for M.Ed. in Mathematics Education.
The Bridge Course carries 15 credits and includes Algebra, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus, Geometry, and Probability and Statistics. Completion of this bridge program is one of the stated pathways into the M.Ed. in Mathematics Education.
The bridge program and the M.Ed. are separate qualifications. The bridge course provides preparatory mathematics study, while the M.Ed. is the two-year master’s degree.
