Kathmandu University (KU) is introducing a new course on filmmaking. Targeting students interested in cinema production, the School of Arts will begin a 48-hour program titled "Film Making / Crafting Cinema."
Who Can Apply?
According to the university, this course is open to anyone who has completed their +2 level and has an interest in film production. It is a hands-on, skill-based training program designed to equip participants with the technical knowledge required to become vloggers, influencers, or content creators.
What Will You Learn?
This 48-hour course will start with the foundational aspects of film production. Participants will learn the entire process—from pre-production and script writing to post-production. The university claims the course will help students develop the ability to create their own short films or original content.
Credit Recognition and Academic Value
Students who successfully complete the course will receive academic recognition equivalent to three credit hours from Kathmandu University. If they later enroll in Bachelor in Media Studies (BMS) under KU, they will be exempt from taking the "Introduction to Media Production" course, and the corresponding tuition fee will also be waived.
Even when applying to other institutions or universities, this officially accredited credit from KU will be recognized and may benefit applicants in their future career or academic pursuits.
