Ten Plus Two (+2) Management

The Ten Plus Two (+2) Management program covers Grade 11 and Grade 12 under NEB. It is intended to give students an academic base in management-related study before they move to bachelor's-level education or other post-secondary options.

The management orientation introduces learners to areas such as accountancy, economics, business studies, finance, marketing, and related subjects according to the subject combinations available within the NEB curriculum. The curriculum also contains compulsory subjects for Grades 11 and 12 alongside optional subject groups.

This level can be relevant to students who want to continue into management, business administration, accounting, finance, hotel management, travel and tourism, or related undergraduate fields after Grade 12.

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at PCMS is affiliated with Purbanchal University. The PU BBA curriculum defines it as a full-time management program designed around eight semesters and 120 credit hours, including internship.

Its academic structure combines foundation, core, capstone, specialization, and internship components. Foundation study covers Business Mathematics, English, Business Economics, Business Communication, macroeconomic analysis, and Business Statistics.

The core area moves through subjects such as financial accounting, management, marketing, business finance, database management, business law, taxation and auditing, human resource management, research methodology, operations management, organizational behavior, management information systems, entrepreneurship development, supply chain management, and e-commerce.

The PU syllabus also includes International Business and Strategic Management as capstone courses. Specialization areas named in the curriculum are:

  • Finance

  • Marketing

  • Human Resource Management

  • Accounting

  • International Business

Students complete an internship carrying five credit hours as part of the degree structure.

BBA Learning Activities at PCMS

PCMS combines the university curriculum with college-level activities intended to connect classroom study with communication, teamwork, presentations, projects, and interaction with people working in management and business.

Its BBA activities include a Personal Development Program during orientation. The program runs for 21 hours and covers areas such as communication, leadership, and goal setting, with LCCI Nepal Pvt. Ltd. named as a collaborating organization.

Another activity is the Mentorship Chain Program, a three-year collaborative learning arrangement that begins from the first semester and normally continues through the seventh semester. Students from different semesters participate together under guidance, with First Avocado Pvt. Ltd. named as the collaborating organization.

The broader BBA learning arrangement also includes case-based study, mentor-mentee interaction, small-team work, project groups, specialized clubs, research and paper presentation, seminar exposure, a language lab, and placement-related training.

Master of Business Administration (MBA)

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is the postgraduate management program at PCMS under Purbanchal University.

The Purbanchal University MBA curriculum effective from the Fall 2022 batch carries 69 credit hours across four semesters. Its structure combines core management courses, electives, specialization courses, seminars, research work, and a thesis.

The first two semesters cover subjects including Marketing for Managers, Communication for Managers, Accounting for Managers, Legal Framework of Business, Decision Sciences, Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior, Economics for Managers, Financial Management, and Operations Management.

Later semesters include Entrepreneurship and Social Enterprises, Research Methodology and Thesis Proposal, Information Technology Management, International Business, Strategic Management, Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility, seminars, specialization courses, and thesis work.

The curriculum provides four specialization areas:

  • Marketing

  • Finance

  • Human Resource Management

  • Operations and Supply Chain Management

Within each specialization, students choose courses from the options specified by Purbanchal University.

MBA Activities Beyond Regular Classes

PCMS has a set of activities attached specifically to its MBA program. A 20-day orientation includes Practical Accountancy sessions led by Chartered Accountants along with soft-skills and contemporary management sessions.

The college also schedules Industry Talks with MBA, bringing working managers and other professionals into guest sessions and experience-sharing activities. The stated schedule is twice a month.

Its international student exchange arrangement is optional. PCMS identifies memorandum-of-understanding arrangements with six universities across India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Taiwan, and Indonesia and states that at least two international student exchange events are organized each year.

During the fourth semester, the College to Corporate activity runs for four days, or 12 hours, and covers areas such as business communication, leadership, and interview skills.

A separate seven-day Seminar Series, totalling 21 hours, is organized once in each semester. Sessions involve working managers, entrepreneurs, and professors, with the aim of giving students structured contact with business issues and market research.

MBA students interested in developing a startup can also take part in an optional startup support program connected with the college's incubation activities.

Presidency Business Incubation Center

The Presidency Business Incubation Center (PBIC) operates as a college initiative focused on entrepreneurship and startup development among students.

Its work is organized around helping students develop business ideas, connect academic study with business and industry, and work through early-stage startup questions. Activities identified for PBIC include business planning seminars, entrepreneurship workshops, idea-sharing sessions, business competitions, specialized training, investor interactions, mentor matching, industry roundtables, co-working space, private workshops, founder discussions, and sessions with visiting specialists.

PBIC also identifies collaboration with Antarprerana Pvt. Ltd., Chitwan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCCI), and Chitwan Association of Industries (CAI). Its strategic arrangement with Antarprerana covers management support for the incubation center and links with entrepreneurship-related mentoring and networking.

For students interested in starting a business, this gives the college a structured activity outside the standard BBA and MBA syllabus rather than treating entrepreneurship only as a classroom subject.

Seminars, Professional Interaction, and Student Development

Seminars and guest sessions form a recurring part of the college's management activities. PCMS runs semester-based seminar series, national seminars, workshops, guest lectures, and international conferences.

These activities place students in settings where they listen to working managers, entrepreneurs, professors, and other speakers and discuss subjects that sit alongside their formal coursework.

The college also has a Placement Cell. Its role is listed alongside training for employability and professional preparation. The existence of the cell should be understood as a student-support function rather than a guarantee of employment after graduation.

PCMS also identifies an alumni network as part of its institutional activities.

Learning Approach

The academic setup at PCMS places repeated emphasis on participation rather than classroom lectures alone. Depending on the program, students take part in case work, projects, seminar presentations, mentorship activities, small-group interaction, workshops, guest sessions, research-related work, and professional communication training.

For BBA students, this accompanies a university curriculum that already includes management, finance, marketing, research, entrepreneurship, technology, strategic study, specialization, and internship. For MBA students, the approach sits alongside seminars, specialization courses, research methodology, and thesis work required by the PU curriculum.

The language lab is another named academic support feature, particularly in relation to communication skills. Specialized clubs, mentor-mentee activities, and project groups are also included in the BBA learning arrangement.
