MBA Curriculum and Semester Structure
The first semester carries 16 credit hours. Students study Marketing for Managers, Communication for Managers, Accounting for Managers-I, Legal Framework of Business, Decision Sciences, and one elective.
Semester II carries 19 credit hours and covers Accounting for Managers-II, Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior, Economics for Managers, Financial Management, Operations Management, Seminar I, and a second elective.
The third semester has 16 credit hours. It includes Entrepreneurship and Social Enterprises, Research Methodology and Thesis Proposal, Information Technology Management, Seminar II, an elective, and two specialization courses.
The final semester carries 18 credit hours and includes International Business, Strategic Management, Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility, Seminar III, two specialization courses, and a five-credit thesis.
This progression places general management study in the earlier semesters and gives more space to specialization, research, and strategic subjects as students move through the program.

Purbanchal University provides four specialization areas in the MBA:
Marketing
The Marketing specialization includes courses such as Marketing Research, Product and Brand Management, Sales Management and Retailing, Service Marketing and CRM, and Advertising Management.
Finance
Finance students select from subjects including Corporate Financial Reporting and Analysis, Capital Structure, Security Analysis and Investment Management, Management of Financial Institutions, and Financial Derivatives and Engineering.
Human Resource Management
The Human Resource Management specialization covers areas such as Team Building and Conflict Management, Industrial Relations and Labour Legislation, Training and Development, Talent Management, and Performance Management: Systems and Strategies.
Operations and Supply Chain Management
This specialization includes Inventory and Warehouse Management, Designing and Managing Supply Chain, Procurement and Materials Management, Network Design, and Facility Location Management.
Students complete four courses from their chosen specialization area across the third and fourth semesters.
MBA Activities at PCMS
The MBA experience at PCMS includes a set of activities organized alongside the Purbanchal University curriculum.
A 20-day orientation program includes a Certification Course on Practical Accountancy conducted by Chartered Accountants, along with Soft Skill Training and Contemporary Management Practices. Guest sessions and experience-sharing activities are also included during the orientation period.
Industry Talks with MBA are scheduled twice a month. These sessions bring working managers and industry professionals into guest classes, discussions, and networking activities.
PCMS also runs a seven-day Seminar Series once in each semester. Each series covers 21 hours and involves working managers, entrepreneurs, and professors from national and international universities. Across the four-semester MBA, the seminar series is held four times.
International Student Exchange
MBA students can participate in an optional international student exchange program. PCMS has MOU arrangements with six universities across India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Taiwan, and Indonesia and schedules at least two international student exchange events each year. Participation is optional.
College to Corporate Program
During the fourth semester, MBA students take part in the College to Corporate program. It runs for four days, totaling 12 hours, and covers business communication, leadership, interview skills, and related professional preparation.
This activity sits near the end of the MBA and adds structured communication and workplace-preparation sessions alongside final-semester academic work.
Startup Support and Business Incubation
MBA students interested in developing a startup can join an optional Startup Support Program offered in collaboration with Antarprerana Pvt. Ltd.
The college also operates the Presidency Business Incubation Center (PBIC). Its activities include entrepreneurship workshops, business planning sessions, idea development, mentor matching, interaction with investors and financial institutions, industry roundtables, and shared working space.
Non-Credit Preparation for Non-Management Graduates
PCMS provides non-credit classes aimed primarily at students entering the MBA from non-management academic backgrounds. These classes are available after admission and include:

The college also connects this preparation with its 20-day orientation covering practical accountancy, soft skills, and contemporary management practices.
Assessment
The MBA uses English as the medium of instruction and evaluation. For theoretical courses, assessment is divided into 50 marks for internal assessment and 50 marks for the semester-end examination.
A student who does not secure at least 20 out of 50 in the combined internal assessment components is not eligible to appear in the semester-end examination for that course. Purbanchal University conducts the written semester-end examinations, with three hours allocated for each theoretical course.
